Andy Dick’s extensive alcohol addiction has been revealed following his crack cocaine-induced overdose.
Multiple sources who have known the troubled comedian for years told TMZ on Friday that he drinks alcohol more often than he uses drugs.
According to the sources, vodka is his drink of choice, and he can easily take down more than a 750-milliliter bottle a day.
Dick allegedly takes swigs from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed.
The sources said the 59-year-old is surrounded by enablers, meaning he never has to pay for his vodka, which is always available to him.
However, the enablers allegedly sometimes dilute the vodka with water to reduce his consumption and prevent blackouts.
On Tuesday, a video went viral showing the “Andy Dick Show” star slumped over on the cement stairs of a building in Hollywood with his glasses on the ground in front of him. He was unresponsive.
A few guys who were with him tried to get him to wake up, but they were unsuccessful. One of them then leaned Dick back to administer Narcan, a nasal spray medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.
An eyewitness later told The Post that he thought Dick was dead, as he had turned blue. The witness, who noted that Dick received multiple doses of Narcan, said he “stood up” after about 10 minutes and acted like “nothing happened.”
Though paramedics and police officers responded to the scene, the witness revealed Dick was not taken to the hospital.
The following day, the actor told TMZ in a video interview that he was “100% fine,” then changed it to “110%.”
The guys who were with him the day before were present for the sit-down, with one of them saying that the group had their “whole entire day planned.”
That’s when Dick admitted that he “snuck away,” with his friend adding that he “did something that messed him up” during that time.
The man made sure to point out that it was a group effort to “save him.”
Dick then explained that he had met a man on the street who was “going through s–t” and “smoking something on tin foil.” He admittedly knew it was crack.
“I’m like, you know what? I might need a little bit of that. I wanted to see what he was doing. And also, I don’t mind doing a little crack every now and then,” the “Hoodwinked” star confessed.
The friend who administered the Narcan explained that he livestreamed the incident because he “wanted a record of what was going on because that doesn’t usually happen.”
Asked whether he thought he was “in a good place right now,” Dick responded, “Love it!” Asked whether he would check himself into rehab, he let out a “f–k no” and added, “I’m not going to be in rehab.”
