Two people were found dead Sunday at the home of Rob Reiner in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that firefighters responded at 3:38 p.m. to a call for medical aid at a home in the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood.

The spokesman added that the deceased are a 78-year-old male and a 68-year-old female, which match the ages of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. Neither of the bodies have been publicly identified.

The Los Angeles Police Department has opened up an investigation into the incident. 

Reiner is the director of such beloved Hollywood classics as This Is Spinal TapStand by Me, Misery, A Few Good Men, The American President and When Harry Met Sally. He also is known as an actor, having starred in the sitcom All in the Family.

More recently, he directed the sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. He also was the subject of an American Cinematheque tribute at the Aero in Santa Monica, which he attended, a couple of months ago.

Reiner married Michele Singer, a photographer whom he met on the set of When Harry Met Sally, in 1989. The couple have three children, Jake, Nick and Romy.
