Tracee Ellis Ross’ long-awaited return to the runway was nothing short of glamorous.

After a 30-plus-year hiatus from the catwalk, the “Black-ish” actress, 52, walked the Marni fall 2025 show on Wednesday at Milan Fashion Week.

Ross sashayed down the runway in a bright yellow gown with a black-and-white lightning bolt design and fur-trimmed cuffs.

The long-sleeved dress was styled with strappy sandals in vibrant red, mint green and metallic gold.

“Francesco is full of so much love, creativity and artistry — it’s why he and I are friends,” Ross told Vogue about her relationship with the fashion house’s creative director, Francesco Risso.

“His clothes and shows are always a beautiful expression of his work and virtuosity, so it felt exciting.”

“It’s yellow, elegant, fun, and made for me — so I loved it,” Ross said of the striking number she modeled. “I felt like a slinky, foxy, burst of sunshine in it.”

She reflected on the moment on Instagram, too, writing, “REPPIN FOR THE GROWN WOMEN at MARNI.”

Friends praised the actress in the comments, with Rita Wilson writing, “All so good!” while others called her “fierce,” “stunning,” “fabulous” and more.

The night before Marni’s fall 2025 show, Ross got nostalgic on Instagram, sharing a video of her runway debut in 1991.

“MEMORIES // walking for @muglerofficial in ‘90 with my mama @dianaross, and again, by myself, in ‘91… I don’t think I’ve been on a runway since!” she captioned the clip.

In another Instagram post from 2020, Ross revealed details about how the mother-daughter runway moment came to be.

According to the caption, her mother, legendary singer and actress Diana Ross, received a call asking if she would walk in the brand’s “Butterfly Show.”

“She knew that I would s—t my Guess jeans at the chance to model for real because I desperately wanted to be a model,” Ross added. “Plus, I was only a couple of weeks shy of my 18th birthday. So, my mama agreed to walk in the show as long as they allowed her daughter to model in the show as well.”

Let’s hope Diana will join her daughter on the runway once again in the future.
