Madhubala was one of the most stunning actresses in Indian cinema. With her movies and performances, she made the audience fall in love with her talent. Along with her work, her personal life was widely discussed back then. Often, her relationship with Dilip Kumar and Kishore Kumar is talked about. But the actress was also reportedly in love with another actor, known for playing a villain.

The actor Madhubala was in love with is Prem Nath. In an interview, Prem’s son Monty shared details about the same. Monty revealed that even his father was smitten by her. The duo worked together in four films and their bond grew stronger during the film Baadal in 1951.

In an interview with IndiaTimes, Monty Nath once revealed, “Madhubala was in love with my dad. Dev Saab and my dad came from orthodox families who didn’t believe in inter-caste (he means inter-religion) marriages. So like Dev and Suraiya, my dad and Madhubala drifted apart.” In another interview, he revealed how the actress once called his father to congratulate him for a performance that made his mom possessive.

Monty told Filmfare, “Papa was a good-looking man, a rockstar. All heroines wanted to marry him. There were rumours linking him with several co-stars. But he gave utmost respect to my mother. He’d say, ‘Yeh meri Maharani hai!’ Later, when mom suffered a nervous breakdown, he was extremely concerned. She was finding it difficult to shoot for Daadi Maa but he encouraged her complete it. Their last years were spent looking after each other.”

In an other interview, Madhubala’s sister, Madhur Bhusban, revealed that her sister once proposed to Prem Nath on the sets of Baadal. She walked into his makeup room on the first day and gave him a rose and a letter and asked her to accept her love. The letter read, “If you love me, please accept this rose. Otherwise, please return it to me.” He accepted the actress’ proposal.
