They were once two of The Bachelor franchise’s biggest rivals.
But nearly 10 years after their explosive feud played out on television, Keira Maguire and Alex Nation have finally made peace.
The reality stars, who famously clashed during Richie Strahan’s 2016 season of The Bachelor Australia, reunited on the new season of Channel 10’s smash hit reality show The Traitors – and told Daily Mail Australia that the experience helped them put their bitter past behind them.
Their feud became one of the most talked-about storylines of The Bachelor franchise after Alex quickly emerged as one of Richie’s favourites, receiving the first white rose of the series and setting herself up as an early frontrunner.
Keira, who was known as the season’s outspoken villain, was far from impressed, with the pair repeatedly butting heads inside the mansion.
At the time, Keira accused Alex of playing a game and questioned her connection with Richie, while Alex hit back at what she saw as Keira’s attacks and competitive behaviour.

The tension continued beyond the show, with the pair taking public swipes at each other in interviews and on social media, including Keira making digs about Alex ‘using her sexuality for attention and ratings’.
But almost a decade on, the women admit they can barely remember what started the drama in the first place.
‘We’re a lot older than when we first went on TV. Like it’s been 10 years, even since we first met,’ Keira told Daily Mail at the launch of The Traitors in Sydney last week.
‘Like I actually forgot why we were fighting.’
Alex said the passage of time had allowed them to see each other differently.
‘It’s nice because 10 years have passed, we’ve grown into the women that we are now, and I think we respected each other for who we were as women now,’ she said.
Keira joked that their relationship had now evolved into something closer to family.
‘I also say, like, she’s like family to me, I can’t get rid of her,’ she laughed.

‘You don’t choose your family. No, but seriously, I say that as a joke, but I genuinely mean it. I feel like you feel like family. I know that sounds a bit cliché.’
Alex said their time filming The Traitors played a major role in repairing their relationship.
While they have moved forward, the pair admitted they will probably never agree on exactly what happened all those years ago.
Keira revealed they chose not to apologise because they both still remember the situation differently.
‘I didn’t apologise for anything… we agreed to disagree that we all had our own version of the truth,’ she said.
Alex added: ‘I feel like if we tried to like apologise for things would go round and round in circles.’
The pair also opened up about the cosmetic treatments they have undergone over the years – while revealing the procedures they would never consider.
Alex said she keeps her beauty routine relatively simple, admitting she gets Botox, Hydrafacials and maintains a flattering hair colour.

Keira – who has previously undergone a breast enhancement – meanwhile said she has become more focused on treatments that enhance her natural features rather than dramatically changing her appearance.
‘I feel like I probably am more focused on biostimulators, like anything that’s more like natural producing collagen, because I have collagen naturally, but anything that enhances your natural features,’ she said.
Keira said she would ‘never do’ filler, although she admitted she has previously had ‘a little bit of filler’ in her lips.
Alex meanwhile revealed she has never had filler.
The pair also weighed in on the controversial cosmetic trend sweeping reality television circles: the so-called ‘Barbie waist’ surgery, also known as rib contouring.
The extreme procedure has gained attention in recent months after a number of Australian reality stars reportedly travelled overseas to achieve a dramatically smaller waistline.
Among them were Married At First Sight star Bec Zacharia and former Bachelor Australia contestant Monique Morley, who both travelled to Bali for the controversial treatment.
The trend has sparked debate over the lengths some women are willing to go to achieve an hourglass figure, with critics questioning the risks of altering the body’s natural anatomy.

But Keira and Alex said it was a procedure they would never consider.
‘I would not remove my ribs for anybody. Just get a little bit of liposuction!’ Keira said.
‘It sounds painful. I mean, I’m up for like whatever but that’s where I draw the line.’
Alex said becoming a mother had changed the way she viewed beauty standards and the pressure women face, particularly online.
‘But also I have a daughter and I think beauty standards, and especially social media, it can be a vicious beast and, like, I’m raising a daughter, I would want her to be happy in her own skin,’ she said.
‘I mean, I get Botox, that makes me happy, that makes me feel good in myself. I get facials, that makes me happy.’
‘But you know, going as far as like contorting your natural anatomy, I just think that that’s dangerous.’
