Homegrown singer Kit Chan held her Atrium Live Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday (Sept 19), with celebrities including fellow singers Stefanie Sun and JJ Lin supporting from the audience.
Besides performing Echoes of Petals, the theme song from Mediacorp drama Emerald Hill — The Little Nyonya Story (2025) with Jeanette Aw — who played local TV’s most famous Nyonya — in the audience, the 54-year-old also sang beloved tracks such as Heartache (1994), Like You (1996) and Home (1998).
Stefanie and JJ visited Kit backstage after the show, where they took photos together.
The former posted about the concert on Instagram on Sunday, writing: “It’s been a while since I’ve watched Kit live. Tonight she was in top form.
“Captivating, strong and beautiful. Her vocals resonant and mellifluous and the music flowed straight into our atriums.
“I have liked you since the beginning! Lai lai lai high tea Kitty, you deserve a good meal!”
The 48-year-old Singaporean also included a video she took together with JJ, where they waved their light sticks and sang to Kit’s Like You.
Towards the end of the video, she fumbled while looking for the stop button and JJ helped her with it.
In response to Stefanie’s praise, Kit replied in the comments section of the post: “Awww…. Stefieeeee! Thank you leh… for your very generous comments! Ok, I wait long long for your legendary high tea!”
JJ’s reflection
JJ also expressed his joy watching Kit’s concert.
The 45-year-old Singaporean wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday: “Seeing how Kit continues to evolve and always leaving with something to take away.
“This time, it was a thought she left us with in the final song — When I let you into my heart, I also give you the power to break it.
“As an artist, we spend so much of our lives opening that space to people — through our songs, our stories, our joys and our scars. Over time, you hope that space becomes something shared, built on love and trust.
“But opening the door also means accepting that not everyone who enters will treat that space with the same care. But protecting the heart doesn’t mean closing it.”
He ended his post by thanking her for leaving that thought and wishing her a happy belated birthday.
Kit celebrated her birthday on Sept 15.
She also replied to JJ’s post, thanking her “dear forever junior”.
She wrote: “It means so much to me that the encore I wanted to leave my audience with, well, that you totally got it. It felt really different seeing you last night.
“I sensed a lightness in your being that wasn’t there before. I gather it means you are really starting to live life on your own terms. And I’m so happy for you! Indeed, the broken-hearted can only empathise even more with others, so God bless the broken-hearted.”
