Shane Pow’s latest running rival? An uncle in slippers who left him trailing behind.
In an Instagram post shared on Sept 18, the 35-year-old local actor is seen running in a T-shirt, shorts and shades, paired with a bright pair of running shoes.
The opening clip is captioned: “POV: You just got smoked by an unc in slippers.”
In the video, an older man dressed in a white singlet and shorts leisurely jogs past him and takes the lead.
Shane attempts to keep pace and is seen sprinting after the uncle in another clip, alongside the caption: “Uncle running so fast.”
By the end of the video, the uncle has widened the gap and disappears into the distance, accompanied by the text: “The man. The legend. The slippers.”
Many were amused by the incident, including local actress Kym Ng and Taiwanese actor Weber Yang.
Weber, 46, jokingly commented, “Oh that’s me!”
One netizen quipped: ” Look behind you. Auntie is chasing him with a slipper in hand.”
Another wrote: “That’s the husband of the grandmother that my Tekong sergeant used to say.”
