SARAH FERGUSON could be preparing to flee the UK for her daughter’s £3.6 million (over €4 million) mansion on Portugal’s coast this winter, according to sources who claim to be close to Ferguson. Her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have reportedly prepared a grand suite in the oceanfront mansion for Ferguson to settle down in, following her final days in the Royal Lodge.
Disgraced royals, following Epstein leaks
Ferguson, 66, has lived with her ex-husband, former Prince Andrew, since 2008, despite their divorce nearly three decades ago in 1996. Following the revelations of Andrew’s connections to infamous paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which included a 2011 email admitting ties to Epstein and Virginia Giuffre’s memoir which described underage sexual encounters, Andrew has been stripped of his title as Prince and lost access to the Royal Lodge.
Ferguson also reportedly sent an email to Epstein in 2011 after he was released from prison for child sexual offences. In the resurfaced email, she “humbly apologised” to Epstein, stating “you have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.”
The emails, despite Ferguson’s PR team claiming they were sent out of fears that Epstein would sue her, have resulted in the biggest scandal of her career as a royal. Since the accusations came forth in October of this year, the former Duchess of York has been staying under the radar.
Fergie to find her own living situation
Andrew, aged 65, will reportedly move to a property on King Charles’ private estate in Sandringham. Ferguson, on the other hand, will find her own place to live, and according to reports, she will settle down in her daughter’s idyllic Portuguese mansion. A wealthy neighbour of Eugenie and Jack has claimed that there is a rumour that Ferguson is to move sometime in January. Whether she is planning to stay in the mansion long-term is yet unclear, however.
A luxurious mansion on the coast of Portugal
The Portuguese luxury property was purchased in May of 2022 by Eugenie and her husband, and since then they have divided their time between the breathtaking mansion and their home on the Kensington Palace grounds. Located at the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort in Melides, Portugal, the mansion is 82 miles south of Lisbon and is described as an intimate spot with a low density community.
The mansion has a beach club, dining spots, and a range of activities including yoga, watersports, hiking, and golf. There is also an area to ride horses.
Other celebrities believed to have properties in the area include Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, and Nicole Kidman. Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender also reportedly go often to the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort with their two children. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also rumoured to be shopping for a home in the area.
