Oliver Hudson is leaning into his role as big brother.
As sister Kate Hudson promotes her latest film, he took a moment to share some sibling humor, poking fun at her revealing look for the “Song Sung Blue” New York City premiere.
On Thursday night, Kate, 46, stepped out onto the red carpet in a plunging green gown from Valentino, topped by a pale pink cape.
The gown’s neckline traveled all the way down to her waist, tied with a tonal silk sash.
This past weekend, Oliver, 49, took to Instagram, posting a behind-the-scenes pic of Kate, circling her chest in red with an iPhone markup pen.
In the caption, he wrote, “I’ll start by saying that I cry everyday with pride for my sis after seeing her performance in Song Sung Blue,” adding, “It moved me beyond expectation.”
What follows, though, is a joke only an older brother can make, as he writes, “But it’s not fair to me as her older brother to have to see this kind of inappropriate nipple exposer of a dress,” adding the hashtag #shacklethenipple.
The comments include crying laughing faces from Octavia Spencer and Candace Cameron Bure, Chelsea Hender’s quip, “You’re just jealous she has nipples, Ollie,” and one fan laughing, “Tell me you are siblings without telling me.”
The extended Hawn/Hudson/Russell family is well-known for their close-knit relationships. They all reside within blocks of one another and regularly spend time together. Oliver and Kate have also hosted the podcast “Sibling Revelry” together since 2019.
Kate’s gown may have been so skin-baring that Oliver was compelled to make fun of her on social media, but the actress used the platform for revealing jokes, too.
Recently, the actress posed in a bralette and sweatpants, joking that it looked “basically the same” as Kylie Jenner’s latest lingerie snap.
