Wimbledon is known for clamping down on players who break its strict dress code – but it seems the celebrities in the stands can also spark backlash with their outfits.
Jennifer Lopez prompted fury from tennis fans as she wore a huge sunhat to the men’s singles final at the All England Club yesterday.
The 56-year-old singer went to extreme levels to protect herself from the sun as Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev to win the title for the second consecutive year.
But fans branded Ms Lopez’s hat ‘inappropriate’ and inconsiderate to the spectators sitting behind her.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one angry fan penned: ‘@JLo this type of hat is inappropriate for such events! You should do your homework lady!’
Another joked that it was so big it looked like she had folded up a cardboard box as they wrote: ‘JLo looks like she has made her hat from an amazon box!’
Other frustrated fans added: ‘@JLo just so you know, with that hat, guests that paid a lot of money to be right there , can’t watch because you like to look good for Instagram.’;

But others rushed to the star’s defence as they explained she did remove it later in the game as she spent the day with Tom Hiddleston.
They wrote: ‘She took the hat off. People leave this woman alone’; ‘Big hat energy. JLo looks absolutely adorable!’
Italy’s Sinner who secured the Wimbledon championship for the second year in a row as he beat Germany’s Zverev in the men’s singles final.
Having lost the first set, Sinner won 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Centre Court to claim his second title in as many years at the All England Club.
The Italian, who did not have rival Carlos Alcaraz to contend with due to injury, breezed to victory in a little under four hours to become just the tenth man to retain the title in the Open era.

Meanwhile, Ben Stiller and Rami Malek looked delighted to see each other and hugged as they took their seats early in the Royal Box ahead of the doubles final.
Also in the prestigious area – alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales and two of their three children George and Charlotte – was Sienna Miller, 44, who wore a frilly mini dress.
Industry star Marisa Abela wore Wimbledon white as she posed with her husband Jamie Bogyo on finals day.
Singer Raye, 28, was the epitome of glamour as she arrived for the match in a stylish brown waistcoat and trouser co-ord.

Actress Lily Collins, 37, also made an appearance and showed off her toned physique in a strapless white crop top and cropped trousers.
TV journalist Carly Steel was seen with her husband Jacob Andreou as well as Omar Sharif Jr.
