Jaime King moved out of her rental home in Los Angeles after losing custody of her kids to her ex-husband, Kyle Newman, according to a new report.
The actress had been staying in a $10,000-a-month property in the Hollywood Hills since April 2023 but left earlier this month for a more affordable pad, the US Sun reported Thursday.
Photos obtained by the outlet show several pieces of furniture, including a wooden daybed, a mattress, a white table, a gray trunk and a small trampoline, placed near garbage cans on the curb.
King moved out of the rental to “downsize” and “find somewhere cheaper,” a source told the outlet.
“She has been struggling with her finances for years now after some failed film ventures, but the custody fight and having to fight all the accusations made against her in court drained her bank accounts,” the source further claimed.
The model is said to be “shattered” after losing custody of her and Newman’s two sons: James, 11, and Leo, 9.
“She is taking it very hard to say the least. She has had demons she’s been battling for decades, but her recent troubles have been exasperated by her family troubles, her career struggling and financial stress,” the insider shared.
King’s rep did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Earlier this week, a judge ruled that King, 45, and Newman, 49, will share legal custody of James and Leo, but the filmmaker will have sole physical custody and final decision-making rights.
The “Hart of Dixie” actress was given visitation rights, but she will have to be supervised and can only see the boys three times a week.
King lost custody after she failed to complete a six-month drug and alcohol program that consisted of weekly testing, a 26-week parenting program and both individual and conjoint counseling with her children.
Newman initially filed for sole custody of the kids in October 2024 after allegedly finding his ex-wife “strung out” and “drunk” while watching James and Leo, whose godmother is Taylor Swift.
“Kyle is dealing with a serious situation affecting the safety and well-being of his children and asks for privacy for his children during this difficult process,” Newman’s attorney, Garry M. Gekht, told Page Six at the time.
The former couple went through a lengthy legal battle over money and custody after King filed for divorce in 2020 after 13 years of marriage.
They finally settled their divorce in 2023 and were on amicable terms at the time.
