Chinese restaurant chain Crystal Jade is scaling back even further this month.
Its Hong Kong Kitchen outlet at The Clementi Mall closed on Tuesday (Sept 15), while its Jurong Point branch is set to shut on Friday.
The two closures come shortly after its Great World restaurant shuttered on Sept 1.
Previously, Crystal Jade had ceased operations at Suntec City in July and Hillion Mall earlier in the year, while its popular Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao outlet at Holland Village closed after two decades in 2025.
This brings Crystal Jade’s closure tally to three outlets within a month in September, and five in total so far in 2026.
In response to AsiaOne’s queries, Crystal Jade said the reasons for closure were similar to its previous shuttered outlets.
“The closures are part of our assessment and review of the group’s operations and outlet network to ensure that the business remains aligned with evolving market conditions and long-term business priorities.”
It added that this was a “planned and ongoing process” which may involve other initiatives, including more closures, details of which will be shared with relevant stakeholders appropriately in due course.
As with previous closures, Crystal Jade said its employees remain its priority, and affected staff were informed directly.
They are also being supported through the transition with redeployment opportunities within the group, where possible.
“We are grateful for customers who support Crystal Jade. Singapore remains our home market, and we are committed to maintaining a sustainable presence here,” it wrote.
Crystal Jade was first established in Singapore by Hong Kong restaurateur Alfred Leung in 1991. It has expanded substantially over the years, opening over 100 outlets across 25 cities including China, South Korea and Vietnam.
With the closure of The Clementi Mall and Jurong Point outlets, 13 branches currently remain in Singapore across its six brand concepts, which include: Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen, Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, Crystal Jade Go, Crystal Jade Golden Palace, Crystal Jade Pavilion and Crystal Jade Palace.
