Let me upgrade you.
Beyoncé joined husband Jay-Z on stage Sunday night for the third or a trio of performances at Yankee Stadium, and she turned up the nostalgia.
For her performance, Queen Bey took her look back to her roots, reaching for a pair of heeled booties that looked familiar to die-hard fans.
Wearing a pair of crystal covered booty shorts and a Yankees top, Beyoncé slipped into a pair of heeled Jimmy Choo x Timberland boots that were also covered in Swarovski crystals.
Though she and her hubby sang their 2013 joint hit “Drunk In Love,” Bey paid homage to an earlier collaboration in the pair’s history: “’03 Bonnie & Clyde.”
In the 2003 music video, the camera pans to Beyoncé’s heels next to Jay-Z’s classic boots as he raps the lyrics “Manolo Blahnik Timbs, Aviator lens.”
Though Beyoncé has left her Manolo Timberlands in her early-aughts archives, she looked to the Jimmy Choo collaboration for a sparkling upgrade in celebration of her husband’s milestone events.
In a press release from the brand, they jointly acknowledged, “While the duo might appear to be an unlikely brand pairing, they do have one special thing, or place, in common. New York is particularly meaningful to both Timberland and Jimmy Choo, and so the city served as the inspiration for their second collaboration.”
And, as New York City was the overarching theme of Jay-Z’s concert series this past weekend — which celebrated his 30-year career and also included surprise performances from Blue Ivy, Rihanna, Teyana Taylor, Usher and more — it seemed an even more appropriate choice.
Fans on X went wild for her kicks, writing, “literally fashion bootsss” and “Those boots are so fierce even the stage got jealous.”
Another commenter echoed the sentiment, writing, “One thing we’re always going to do is LOOK AT THE SHOES!!”
