Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film has finally gotten a new release date after major delay. Read ahead to know more about it.

Akhanda 2, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s movie, which was directed by Boyapati Sreenu, was originally going to be released on December 5, 2025. However, just a few hours before its supposed release, the viewers announced that it is going to be postponed. The makers have now finally revealed the new release date for the film, and the fantasy action is all set to hit the big screens on December 12, 2025, with premiere shows on December 11. The update was shared by the makers via X (formerly Twitter). The team shared a poster of the movie, with the caption, “All set for the Divine Destruction at the box office. Feel the MASSive power of #Akhanda2 in theaters from December 12 with grand premieres on December 11th.”

Why was Akhanda 2 postponed?

As per reports, Akhanda 2 was postponed because of monetary disputes among the stakeholders. It was also reported that some major figures in the Telugu film industry tried to resolve the issues; however, they could not be resolved before December 5, which caused the movie to be postponed.

The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Akhanda 2 is an upcoming movie that acts as the sequel to the 2021 hit Akhanda. The movie revolves around the story of Aghora Akhanda Rudra Sikandar, who is now facing an even bigger and stronger threat as he tries to end the reign of terror imposed by his enemies. The movie is going to explore the very fundamental theme used in storytelling, which is the concept of good vs evil. Other than NBK, the movie also has Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, and more in pivotal roles.

The first part of the movie got somewhat mixed reviews from critics; however, it was much appreciated and quickly accepted by the audience, as it ended up becoming a box office hit.
