Selena Gomez shared that she hopes of “one day” becoming a mom, hinting at future plans to welcome kids with husband Benny Blanco.
The Rare Beauty founder posted a photo of herself with a newborn baby alongside the message to her Instagram Stories on Monday.
Gomez, 34, previously made a similar comment in October 2025, when she shared a clip from the Season 2 finale of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” the sequel to “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
The post featured her character, Alex Russo, hugging Billie, who was revealed to be Alex’s daughter, with Gomez writing, “Alex Russo is a mommy. Hopefully one day that’ll be me.”
In September 2024, Gomez revealed that she is unable to “carry [her] own children,” explaining that her medical conditions could place both her life and a potential baby’s life “in jeopardy.”
The “Emilia Pérez” star, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and received a kidney transplant in 2017, said this was “something [she] had to grieve for a while,” though she has not ruled out surrogacy or adoption.
“At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” Gomez said at the time.
Shortly after opening up about her inability to carry a child, Gomez told anyone who viewed her as a victim to “f–k off” while speaking at a Women in Film event.
“Telling people when you need help or when you want help, that is not shameful,” she said. “So, yeah, I shared that I can’t carry a child. … That’s what my life is. That’s who I am.”
Gomez and record producer Blanco, 38, said “I do” in September 2025 at Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California.
In the month following their wedding, Gomez opened up about why she chose to keep the details of their big day private.
During an appearance on the “Jennifer Hudson Show,” she said, “I didn’t want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can.”
The pair got engaged in December 2024, with Gomez showing off her ring in a carousel of Instagram photos.
The couple had been together for more than a year by the time they got engaged.
Gomez confirmed their relationship in December 2023 through a series of Instagram comments, also revealing that she and Blanco had been secretly dating for six months at that point.
While defending their relationship, Gomez wrote that Blanco was “better than anyone [she’s] ever been with” and had “treated [her] better than any human being on this planet.”
Blanco later opened up about keeping their relationship private, revealing in July that they had kept their romance under wraps for about eight or nine months.
He also recalled Gomez asking if he was “sure” he wanted to pursue a relationship with her.
And she asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? I understand if you want us to just be friends,’” Blanco said. “And then I said, ‘You know what? Screw it.’
“We’re lucky because we both have friends and family we’ve known since before all this, and we’re surrounded by a good group of people we love.”
