Yellowstone roared to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, delivering yet another jaw-dropping character death that left fans buzzing across social media.

The dramatic final episode tied up several major storylines, including Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) selling the iconic Yellowstone ranch back to its original owners, the Broken Rock Indians.

But the biggest shock of the night came when Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) avenged the murder of her father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), by killing her adopted brother Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley).

In a brutal showdown, Beth fatally stabbed Jamie in the heart as he nearly choked her to death, with her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) helping to dispose of the body and preserve the family’s dark legacy.

While the series finale left fans divided overall, many were unified in their reaction to Jamie’s demise, celebrating it as overdue justice.

‘I know that’s right, Beth!!!!!! Jamie’s had this beating coming for YEARS!!!’ one enthusiastic fan declared on X.

Another chimed in, ‘Jamie got what he deserved!’

One viewer humorously added, ‘Love that Beth finally ended Jamie, but lowkey wish we could’ve seen Rip whoop that ass a little bit more. Throwing him around a little wasn’t enough for Jamie’s sorry ass. #Yellowstone.’

However, not everyone was cheering for Beth. Some fans voiced their dissent, expressing sympathy for Jamie and criticism of the show’s direction.

‘Death has come to Jamie. But I’m not happy. I’m still Team Jamie,’ one viewer shared. ‘John Dutton was not a good man. That family ruined Jamie.’

Another took aim at the series creator: ‘Dear #TaylorSheridan, Jamie was never the supervillain you wanted us to believe he was. That was cheap. That was lazy. That was predictable.

‘Wes Bentley and the character deserved better. You had five seasons to do something better, and you didn’t.’

Others turned their ire toward Beth herself.

‘Beth Dutton never took an ounce of responsibility for getting knocked up as a teenager and asking Jamie—also a teenager—to help cover it up. She hated him for it. Now she’s murdered him and gotten away with it. She’s the worst. #Yellowstone,’ one viewer ranted.

The series also confirmed a theory first set forth in the 1883 finale where the Indian named Spotted Eagle (Graham Greene) said his people would take the land back after seven generations, which ultimately proved true.

Kayce struck a deal with Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birminghan), selling him the land back dirt cheap at $1.25 an acre – the same price land was selling for in 1883 – $1.1 million for the largest ranch in Montana.

@iLEADFARMER said, ‘I KNEW IT! Kayce selling the ranch back to the Broken Rock Reservation! The prophecy from 1883 when James Dutton originally got the land, is about to come true!!!!’

‘They are slicing their palms with a knife in a ceremony. They are brothers now to each other and the land. After 7 generations – what was said in the 1800’s came true!’ tweeted @TheWSB.

Sandra Trolinger said, ‘Kasey and his family are protected and the ranch lives on as it should wild and free. Bravo!’
