TVB actress Eva Lai will be tying the knot in 2027 after finding love again.
The 62-year-old was a guest on Hong Kong talk show Big City Shop on Sept 28, where she was asked about her relationship.
She said: “Actually, it’s not like I specifically looked for it; I think it’s destiny and fate.”
Eva also revealed that she and her boyfriend have known each other for over two decades through church and maintained a good relationship until recent years when they decided to take it a step further and became a couple.
When asked about their wedding, she replied shyly: “It will happen soon. We are getting married next year.”
Eva, who won the inaugural Miss Asia Pageant in 1985, married Hong Kong actor and martial artist Tony Liu — also known as Lau Wing — in 1992. They have a son and a daughter together.
After their relationship deteriorated in 2000 allegedly due to domestic violence, she filed for separation and applied for an injunction from the Hong Kong courts to prevent him from contacting her and their children. They officially divorced in 2004.
Over the years, she appeared mostly in supporting and guest roles in Hong Kong series including Flying Tiger season 2 (2019), Forensic Heroes season 4 (2020) and The Queen of News (2023), as well as in films, including Love in a Fallen City (1984) and Thou Shalt Not Swear (1993).
Eva, who is now a grandmother, also shared in the talk show that her children are supportive of her romance.
“They have no objections, they always praise him (her boyfriend),” she said.
