The actress is Suchitra Krishnamoorthy. Suchitra made her acting debut in the year 1991 with the Malayalam film Kilukkampetti and then featured in a Tamil film titled Sivaranjani. Her Hindi debut film was Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, in which she played Aana. Shah Rukh Khan’s character Sunil was in unrequited love with Ana. But their chemistry as friends and the performances are what make the story so special.
In 1999, Suchitra married Shekhar Kapur, even though her family was not really supportive of their marriage. Her last movie in 1999 was a Kannada film starring Vishwa. A few years into their marriage, problems started arising, and it wasn’t a pleasant union anymore. In 2005, Suchitra made a comeback with My Wife’s Murder. Sadly, her career didn’t take off. As reported by NDTV, she blamed Preity Zinta for having an affair with her husband.
Once Preity even reacted to Suchitra Krishnamoorthy’s claims. The Kal Ho Naa Ho actress said, “I am the number one actress and you don’t even work; you are a homemaker. Suchitra, don’t talk to me like that. You need to see a psychiatrist; your mind is not in the right place.” To this, the Suchitra had once reacted, “I didn’t have to take it. It’s a free world and she can say what she likes. I am very proud to be a homemaker. I was a full-time mom for 20 years and I am very proud of it. I don’t need to (forgive her). She is not a part of my consciousness at all. All these things do not exist for me, which is a good space to be in.”
