Are you ready for it?

Taylor Swift fans have been busy dissecting every move of the star’s 149-show Eras Tour, including the meaning of a very conspicuous costume she revealed during the final leg of her concert, which kicked off in Miami in October 2024.

Although Swift debuted multiple new looks during her three-night performance in Miami, diehard Swifties have been speculating for over a year about the symbolism behind the black-and-gold snake-covered Roberto Cavalli bodysuit designed by Fausto Puglisi for the “Reputation” portion of the show, which caused quite a commotion for fans in the audience and viewers of the concert who caught glimpses on social media.

Until then, Swift had worn the same black-and-red ensemble during that section for the entirety of her Eras Tour, which began in March 2023. However, after over 130 performances, the original black-and-red snake suit was showing signs of wear, and an alternate was needed.

When Swift’s longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, and his team began work on a second bodysuit ahead of the final U.S. leg of the tour, the process was much more difficult than expected; there was no more fabric left from the original design, so they had to start from scratch.

In Episode 3, Swift is shown trying on an early version of the new design, immediately clocking issues with the fit. “It’s just really annoying and I have to do athletic s–t in this,” she comments, gesturing to the placement of the cups in the bust area that made the suit impractical for stage performance.

Somehow, moments before taking the stage at Hard Rock Stadium, the design was altered successfully.

“It fits. It fits. It fits,” Swift exclaims. “I don’t know how you guys managed this. It’s perfect. Nothing is going to pop out. It’s now my favorite. I didn’t see this coming. I’m shocked.”

Nearby, a relieved Cassel comments, “People are going to lose their minds.”

Many fans assumed this was an Easter Egg, hinting at an upcoming release of “Reputation: Taylor’s Version,” but so far, this has not been the case. Swift used funds from the Eras Tour to buy back her masters from Shamrock Capital, including her original “Reputation” album.

In May 2025, the singer shared the news in an Instagram post of herself holding her six original albums, captioned “You belong with me,” and directed fans to a letter on her website, which explained the re-acquisition.

Since then, Swift no longer feels the need to rerecord the album or return to that particular headspace.

In addition to generating enough money to buy back the rights to her work, the wildly successful Eras Tour also allowed Swift to give generous bonuses to everyone involved, from her backup dancers to the trailer truck drivers.

Notably, the Eras Tour included nearly 100 outfit changes over the course of its almost two-year run, providing plenty of fashion fodder for fans to obsess over.

These details and more are chronicled in Episodes 3 and 4 of the “End of an Era” documentary, now streaming on Disney+.
