Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been every viewer’s favourite show for the last 16 years. This week, the show’s TRPs saw a surge and managed to grab the second spot. The show features Dilip Joshi, Nitish Bhaluni, Mandar Chandwadkar, Amit Bhatt, Kiran Bhatt, Sonalika Joshi, Munmun Dutta, Tanmay Vekaria among others. All of the aforementioned stars continue to be loved and appreciated for their impeccable performances.
Tanmay Vekaria – who plays Bagha in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah – has won several hearts with his honest performance. Those who follow the show will agree that it is indeed a unique character that remains etched in the minds of the viewers. Tanmay recently spoke to BollywoodLife about the effort has to invest in portraying a character like Bagha who is popular for his unique style.
Tanmay Vekaria on playing Bagha
“It’s been 14 years since Bagha was introduced in the show and I never think of portraying it as a difficult or easy task. I just know I have to act, I have to be Bagha the moment I’m on the set with the makeup and get up. I enjoy what I am doing so it has never been difficult for me in picking up the body language, posture, the way Bagha stands or how he talks. It is just the way how you enjoy doing a particular role. I enjoy every bit of it. We usually have a great time on the set. Everybody has been nice and cooperative. Be it makers, writers, directors, co-actors Dilip bhai, Naveena or Kiran bhai, they have been cooperative. Apart from everyone’s cooperation, there is Asit Kumarr Modi who has given the liberty to improvise things. I enjoy doing every bit of it,” he said.
The actor also spoke at length on how his life has changed after he started playing Bagha. Tanmay shared, “Every actor wants to be recognised whenever he is in public. So, thanks to Asit bhai, thanks to God who has given me this platform wherein I’m being recognised where ever I go. Life has definitely changed in a positive way for me as Bagha. I am really thankful to God for giving me this wonderful character.” This is a big story in entertainment news and TV news.
Bagha, Nattu kaka and Jethalal’s trio
He further spoke about the iconic trio of Bagha, Nattu kaka and Jethalal. Tanmay shared how he has built his chemistry with the new Nattu kaka. “There was nothing like building a chemistry with the new Nattu Kaka. He is a very good producer from Gujarati theatre, Kiran Bhatt. I have known him for years. The trio continues to be loved by everyone. Even though the original actor who played Nattu kaka is not with us, the character is still loved. Kiran Bhatt plays him with precision. We all – Dilip bhai, Kiran bhai and I – really enjoy what we do in the scenes. We do improvisation, small reactions and enjoy it thoroughly. Kiran Bhatt is a gem of a person and we love our scenes together.”
