Stuck on what to watch on TV this week? Take a look at these no-spoiler trending TV show reviews…

Slow Horses, Season Five

Slow Horses returns for its fifth run on Apple TV+, but the usually razor-sharp spy drama feels slightly looser this time around. The series opens with a tense, politically charged incident that suggests a bold direction, yet the narrative quickly disperses into a jumble of competing subplots. Instead of the tight, cohesive storytelling the show built its reputation on, season five hops between threads so frequently that few gather meaningful momentum.

The character work is also a little uneven. Several long-standing favourites behave in ways that feel amplified rather than evolved. Still, the cast remain its strongest asset. Gary Oldman is reliably magnetic, anchoring even the season’s messier moments with his brilliantly abrasive take on Jackson Lamb.

There are flashes of the wit and tension that made Slow Horses essential viewing, but this season ultimately feels like its most scattered chapter – still enjoyable enough.

Hollywood Hustler: Glitz, Glam, Scam

Prime Video’s Hollywood Hustler: Glitz, Glam, Scam delivers a slick, absorbing account of Zach Horwitz, the actor-turned-fraudster whose fabricated Hollywood credentials enabled a staggering multimillion-dollar con. Across three fast-moving episodes, the docuseries charts how Horwitz built a meticulously curated image – complete with luxury homes, red-carpet appearances and a steady stream of investors – all resting on forged contracts and empty promises.

What sets the series apart is its focus on the human cost. Interviews with friends, investors and former associates reveal the emotional fallout behind the headlines, capturing both the scale of the deception and the personal betrayal felt by those closest to him.

The documentary also reflects on the broader culture that made Horwitz’s rise possible – a Hollywood ecosystem primed to reward confidence, glamour, and the illusion of success. The result is an engaging, yet unsettling, portrait of ambition pushed past its limits.
