Shifting Gears star Tim Allen was all about his youngest daughter this weekend.
Allen, 71, and his wife, Jane Hajduk, were spotted at Disneyland on Saturday, March 28, for what appeared to be a birthday celebration for his daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick, 16.
Allen and Hajduk, 58, were photographed riding several rides, including the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Bobsled and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The pair even enjoyed some celebratory ice cream.
The father-daughter pair have always been close. In 2023, Allen told Us Weekly that he loved working alongside his then-14-year-old in the Christmas TV series The Santa Clauses.
“It’s one of those moments that I’ll carry with me forever,” he said at the time. “To see the professional that she’s turned into, [she] treats everybody well, shows up on time, does her job, works long hours, [with] no complaints.”
“At times, I look over there and go, my kid is on this movie with me,” Allen also said before he added, “I’m so grateful.”
Hajduk was also part of shooting the film, as she accompanied Allen-Dick to the set each day. “It was a new experience for both of them, and they just worked their butts off,” the actor shared. “It’s very impressive to watch.”
In February 2025, Allen spoke up on X about feeling a “profound sense of sadness” despite the fact that he has “so many blessings” in his life. “So many blessings in my life yet woke up with profound sense of sadness, no explanation just sat and felt sadness,” Allen wrote on the platform.
The actor also encouraged his followers not to shy away from their feelings. “To experience sad is necessary to experience [the] happiness one imagines,” he added.
Allen returned to the small screen in Shifting Gears in January 2025. He previously starred on the hit series Home Improvement from 1991 to 1999 alongside Patricia Richardson, Taran Noah Smith, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Zachery Ty Bryan, Richard Karn and Debbe Dunning.
Despite that television background, Allen admitted he wasn’t sure about making the move. “It was a complicated decision. I was doing Disney+’s Santa Claus series at the time and I said, ‘I really can’t think about this now,’” he exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2025. “Do I want to do linear TV? I was so depressed at how streaming has hurt television. So if I did it, I want to elevate it.”
