Supermarket chain Sheng Siong on Thursday (Sept 10) announced that it will increase CHAS discounts for blue and orange cardholders from the current 4 per cent to 6 per cent, till Jan 1 next year.
Lim Hock Chee, chief executive of Sheng Siong Group, said in a statement that he hopes every small saving can help households with daily expenses.
“After providing additional support through the 8 per cent CHAS discount in June, we wanted to continue doing a little more for our customers.
“We hope the 6 per cent discount will help them save a little more on their everyday groceries,” Lim said.
During this period, blue CHAS cardholders can enjoy a 6 per cent discount every Thursday, while orange CHAS cardholders will enjoy the same discount rate on Fridays.
Apart from the increased CHAS discounts, Sheng Siong also announced that it will offer purchase-with-purchase promotions on its selected house brands.
The group hopes this would give its customers more opportunities to enjoy savings on everyday essentials such as rice and cooking oil, adding that its discount programmes have delivered approximately $7.5 million in savings to customers last year.
