Travelling to Bangkok to shop for Gentlewoman?

Soon, you won’t have to, as the popular Thai fashion label is opening its first store in Singapore at 313@somerset on Oct 16, the brand announced in a press release on Wednesday (Sept 9).

Shoppers can expect a selection of Gentlewoman’s signature collections, along with what the label described as a “bold point of view” and distinctive retail experience.

Among the collections is Dormitory Darlings, a collaboration with Thai actress Chompoo Araya, which draws inspiration from familiar places and everyday moments in Thailand, reimagining them through playful details and effortless silhouettes.

Then there’s Echoes of Refinement, a collection which explores the contrast between clean tailoring and imperfect surroundings to redefine modern elegance.

It is also meant to reflect the idea that sophistication is not about where the clothes are worn, but how they are carried.

Meanwhile, Theory of The Wind aims to bring motion to life through fluid silhouettes, lightweight fabrics and flowing fringe. Designed to move with the wearer, each piece in the collection shifts, sways and transforms with every step, akin to the freedom of wind in motion.

Already, Gentlewoman is looking ahead. The brand said it plans to further expand its footprint in Singapore, building on the momentum of its first store to reach an ever wider local audience.

Said co-founder K. Raya Wannapinyo: “We are excited to play a part in growing Singapore’s fashion landscape and looking forward to seeing where this next chapter takes us within the territory.”

While the opening marks Gentlewoman’s first brick-and-mortar store in Singapore, the brand is hardly new to many Singaporeans.

Its cult-favourite logo tote bags, in particular, have already become a familiar sight around the city over the years.

Founded in 2018 in Bangkok by Raya Wannapinyo, Siripa Rueangwutthisakulchai and Jitpon Siriwattanamathangkul, Gentlewoman first started with a focus on workwear before expanding into a wider range of apparel including casualwear, activewear, swimwear and accessories.

It currently has 28 stores across Thailand.

In January, the label opened its first Malaysian store, before making its Indonesia debut in April and adding a second outlet there in August.

Address: 313@somerset, 313 Orchard Road, #03-18/21, Singapore 238895
Opening hours: 10am to 10pm daily
