Shaboozey fans have taken to social media to express frustration over Shaboozey losing in the Single of the Year category at the 2024 CMA Awards.
The 29-year-old music artist — who earlier this year was rumored to be romancing Emily Ratajkowski — went up against Cody Johnson, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton, who won for his song White Horse.
It comes two days after the star’s song A Bar Song (Tipsy) added an 18th week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
It’s just one week away from tying with Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus) for longest number one hit.
After his Single of the Year defeat, one fan wrote on X, ‘They just snubbed Shaboozey #CMAs.’
Another person added in all capital letters, ‘Shaboozey got robbed on the first award!!! F**k the CMAs!!!’

Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze, arrived to the awards show in a mint green Western-inspired suit and black shirt, plus sparkly black footwear.
Shaboozey’s statement-making suit was adorned with black trim and embroidery throughout.
It was personalized, with a portion of his name elaborately displayed on the back of his jacket.
Later in the night he took the stage to perform his viral smash A Bar Song (Tipsy) and a new song called Highway.
Upon receiving his first CMA Award nomination, Shaboozey relayed a messagé of appreciation to Beyoncé, whose Cowboy Carter album he appeared on twice earlier this year.
Taking to social media app X, he wrote, “Thank you Beyoncé for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!’
Chibueze, whose stage name is the phonetic spelling of his surname, was born to Nigerian immigrants.
He told the Tennessean in April, ‘Being from Virginia, you’ve got acts like Pharrell, Missy, and Timbaland, who do come from hip-hop.

Country music’s biggest night kicked off with a star-studded red carpet at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The awards show is hosted by Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, and airs live on ABC before streaming Thursday on Hulu.
Music legend George Straight is the recipient of the night’s Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition to Shaboozey, performers included Chris Stapleton, Post Malone, Eric Church, Kelsea Ballerini, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, and Kacey Musgraves.
Morgan Wallen is this year’s most-nominated artist with an impressive seven nods.
For a third year in a row, Wallen is up for two of the most coveted prizes — entertainer of the year and male vocalist.
Following in second place are Cody Johnson and Stapleton, who both scored five nominations.
Lainey Wilson and Post Malone are also both up for four nominations. Malone’s nominations all come from his collaboration with Wallen, I Had Some Help.
