AR MurugadossSikandar, which features Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles, has clearly not lived up to viewers’ expectations. Following a sluggish start, the film hasn’t been successful in being as impressive as Salman’s previous films. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 93.75 crore net in India in the first six days of the release.

Released on March 30 during Eid, Sikandar missed the crucial Friday-Saturday boost to its collections in its first week. According to reports, on its sixth day, the film earned approximately Rs 3.5 crore net, and brought its total to Rs 93.75 crore in India. In comparison to Salman’s previous films, this wasn’t impressive. For the unversed, Salman Khan’s previous release, Tiger 3, had earned Rs 13.25 crore on its sixth day and its total collection by sixth day stood at Rs 200.9 crore net in India.

On day 1, the film earned Rs 26 crore in India, and earned Rs 90.25 crore in India and Rs 42 crore globally in its five-day run. On Wednesday, Sikandar witnessed a 50% dip, and since then, it has continued to collect revenue in single digits.

Alongside Salman and Rashmika, the film also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor. Sikandar revolves around the story of Sanjay Rajkot (Sikandar), a man who battles a corrupt politician and his son. Rashmika plays his wife, Saisri, in the film.

Salman Khan had recently talked about the lack of support from the film fraternity for his films. Salman Khan said his friends feel that he doesn’t need any support, but the superstar says he too requires backing for his films.

While speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Salman Khan said, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. But, sabko zaroorat padti hai.”

The film’s BO collection had also suffered because it was leaked online ahead of its release. The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) had criticised it. “The leak of Sikandar serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stricter enforcement of anti-piracy laws and enhanced digital security measures to protect intellectual property rights,” IMPPA was quoted as saying by PTI.
