Roxy Jacenko has delivered a very cryptic response to the suggestion that she could replace Jackie ‘O’ Henderson as Kyle Sandilands’ KIIS FM co-host.

In the wake of Henderson’s dramatic exit from The Kyle & Jackie O Show last week, Jacenko, 45, has emerged as a frontrunner to fill the radio queen’s sizeable shoes.

The Daily Telegraph reported over the weekend that Jacenko, Sophie Monk, 46, and model Cheyenne Tozzi, 37, were ‘frontrunners’ to step into the breach.

The publication claimed that both Jacenko and Tozzi had indicated that they would ‘love the job.’

When the claims were put to the PR maven by Daily Mail on Monday, she offered a very cryptic, three-word response that only raises more questions than it answers.

‘Would be fun,’ Jacenko said.

An insider told the publication that Jacenko’s no-nonsense persona would be a perfect foil for Sandilands’ brash and boisterous delivery.

‘Roxy is great at getting a headline, which could help maintain the show’s buzz and keep listeners engaged during a period of major transition for the network,’ the source said.

While she does not have any radio credits in her CV, Jacenko has been a frequent guest on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.

She is also quite familiar in the podcasting space, having appeared on many high-profile shows.

In 2019, Jacenko also fronted the short-lived podcast The Insider – which lifted the curtain on the PR world and her agency Sweaty Betty.

Despite the claims, it seems, at this stage at least, that Sophie Monk has emerged as the strong favourite to fill the coveted role.

Monk has developed a reputation for her down-to-earth nature, cheeky banter and a willingness to not take things too seriously.

These qualities make her a prime candidate for filling Henderson’s shoes, should Sandilands return to the hosting gig following his two-week suspension.

Fans online seem to agree, as many have since flocked to social media to call for Monk to fill the chair.

‘Really hoping for The Kyle and Sophie Show. They have awesome chemistry!’ one person wrote.

‘Put Kyle and Sophie Monk together. Kyle also makes Australian idol better,’ added another.

Some even went so far as to leave direct messages on Monk’s Instagram page, begging her to join Kyle on his radio show.

‘Please speak to Kyle Sandilands about teaming up with him… you’d be absolutely awesome!’ said one.

Other potential candidates to replace Henderson could include several veteran radio stars, including Amanda Keller, Chrissie Swan and Fifi Box.

It comes after Henderson broke her silence on Friday afternoon about the collapse of The Kyle & Jackie O Show.

Speaking via a statement issued by manager Gemma O’Neill, the radio queen claimed that she did not quit or resign from the popular KIIS FM breakfast show.

Model Cheyenne Tozzi has also emerged as a frontrunner to take Henderson’s spot

‘Over the past few days, there has been a lot of speculation and misinformation about my departure from the show,’ she began the statement.

‘I want to make one important point very clear: I did not quit or resign.’

Continuing, Henderson said the ‘narrative’ surrounding the drama was not an accurate reflection of what had occurred.

‘I am deeply saddened by the events of the past week and the possibility of the show ending. This has come as a shock to me, as it has to everyone else,’ she said.

‘The current media narrative does not reflect what actually occurred, and it has been truly heartbreaking to see how this has unfolded.’

The statement continued: ‘At this stage, I am unable to say anything further, as I am addressing this through the appropriate legal channels.’

KIIS FM’s parent company ARN announced last week that Henderson’s $100 million contract has been terminated after she told executives she ‘cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands’ following his harsh comments on-air that left her in tears.

Sandilands has been suspended and given 14 days to ‘remedy’ the breach, or else face termination.
