Michael J. Fox took a journey through the past over the weekend when he reunited with his Back To The Future costar Christopher Lloyd.

Fox, 64, revealed that the two actors had caught up in an Instagram post on Saturday featuring his longtime pal Lloyd, 87.

‘Dining with my bestie at the beach. Next year BTTF is 41. Great Scott,’ he captioned his post, referencing their first film together, which was released in 1985.

‘Chris will be 8️⃣8️⃣. That’s some serious s***,’ Fox added.

Lloyd joined in the fun in the comments, adding another Back To The Future line: ‘Man, that’s heavy.’

Fox — who delivered a moving speech this month at the Actor Awards about how he met his wife — starred in the first Back To The Future film as Marty McFly, a high schooler whose unlikely friendship with Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown (Lloyd) leads him to travel back to the 1950s in a time machine made out of an already defunct DMC DeLorean.

Despite suffering a series of setbacks that ballooned the film’s budget, the first Back To The Future was a box office hit that cemented Fox’s status as a leading man and turned him and Lloyd into pop culture icons.

Its success led to two more blockbuster sequels, Back To The Future Part II (1989) and Part III (1990).

In his photo, Fox and Lloyd both beamed while sitting at a table in a restaurant and leaning in toward each other.

Fox — a noted Grateful Dead fan — wore a T-shirt with an illustration of a flower-covered skeleton that inspired the cover of the band’s 1971 self-titled live album, known as Skull And Roses among many fans.

It wasn’t clear when he and Lloyd caught up, but they were together again just a day later when they joined forces to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Lucky’s Montecito, a steakhouse located in Santa Barbara county that has been a popular spot for celebrities for decades.

Fox was dressed casually in a brown denim jacket and a Late Show with David Letterman T-shirt as he joined Lloyd again.

The Taxi star had dressed up a bit more with a black sport coat and matching black button-up shirt, along with a chunky pair of dark-frame glasses.

Fox — who has a home near Lucky’s in Montecito with his wife, the actress Tracy Pollan — also made the rounds to chat with other stars.

Fox was seen earlier this month when he made a cheeky joke as one of the opening speakers at the Actor Awards, formerly know as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The ceremony traditionally opens with monologues from several of the assembled stars, who tell stories about their time in their profession and then close by stating their names and saying: ‘I am an actor.’

Fox — who has received wide admiration for his dignified battle with Parkinson’s disease and advocacy for its sufferers — got such a massive round of applause when the camera alighted on him that he had to pause the start of his speech.

He proceeded to tell a story about how his acting career resulted in his introduction to his wife and Family Ties costar Tracy Pollan, with whom he has four children.

The Back to the Future legend then pointed to his son Sam, 36, who was seated next to him, and quipped: ‘By the way, he’s not an actor, he’s just my date.’

He added a heartwarming extra few words to the traditional closer of the monologue, saying: ‘I’m Michael J. Fox and a dad, and I’m an actor.’

Fox and Pollan, 65, share four children: son Sam, 36; and daughters Aquinnah, 31; Schuyler, 31; and Esmé, 24. Fox and Pollan met when she appeared on his series Family Ties in the 1980s

Fox began his speech: ‘Before I left school….,’ then had to trail off briefly in order to let his thunderous ovation die down before continuing.

‘Before I left school and moved from Canada to LA to try and make it as an actor, a teacher of mine told me: “Fox, you’re not gonna be cute forever.” I didn’t know what to say to that so I said: “Maybe just long enough, sir,”‘ he said to a laugh.

‘After a few years of dumpster diving in LA I ended up on Family Ties, where I received the biggest gift of my career — I met my wife, the actor Tracy Pollan, who played my girlfriend Ellen,’ Fox continued.

‘And she gave me four gifts, our kids Schuyler, Aquinnah, Esme and Sam. Sometimes I like to remind them, if it weren’t for acting they wouldn’t be here.’
