Rosie O’Donnell is feeling ‘a lot better’ after shedding 65lbs over the past three years, thanks to the trendy GLP-1 agonist drug Mounjaro.
The 64-year-old expat comedian, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2022, even managed to avoid the common side effects including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and stomach pain.
‘I did the lowest dose for [the first] year with 2.5. Then I did [the second] year at 5 and now I’m just finishing year [three] at 7.5,’ O’Donnell told Ana Navarro’s podcast Bleep! on Monday.
‘I wanted to go slow because I know that it overwhelms me when I have lost it quick before…I like doing it at a slow pace. I like how it feels that I’m not sick.’
The 12-time Emmy winner, who cut way down on sugar and her favorite drink Diet Coke, added: ‘The doctor kept saying, “I want you to go up” [during the first year]. And I’m like, “I’m fine as it is.”‘
O’Donnell, who also underwent a $90,000 facelift in January to combat the sagging skin, plans on upping her dose ‘one more time’ and then she ‘will be done.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to the former talk show host’s rep for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
Some of the more serious side effects that can come with taking the coveted injectable include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, severe kidney issues and thyroid C-cell tumors.
The FDA has only approved three GLP-1 drugs specifically for weight loss – the semaglutide Wegovy, the liraglutide Saxenda and the tirzepatide Zepbound – and the rest are specifically for patients suffering from type 2 diabetes.
Celebrities who’ve admitted to taking GLPs include Oprah Winfrey, Kathy Bates, Kelly Clarkson, Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Schumer, Serena Williams, Meghan Trainor, Elon Musk, Rebel Wilson, Chelsea Handler, Sharon Osbourne and Tori Spelling.
But for every celebrity who admits to hopping aboard the Ozempic train, there are many more who’ve remained suspiciously silent while slimming including Selena Gomez, Melissa McCarthy, Khloé Kardashian, Demi Lovato, Lana Del Rey, Christina Aguilera and Ricki Lake.
O’Donnell previously underwent vertical gastric sleeve surgery in 2013 – a year after surviving a ‘widow-maker’ heart attack during which her left anterior descending artery was 99 percent blocked.

For producing Hulu documentary Unleashing Hope, O’Donnell will compete for the outstanding daytime special trophy at the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards, which stream October 30 on watch.theemmys.tv.
