Filming for the new action thriller Retribution starts in Puerto Banus in June. Crews are heading to the Malex superyacht berthed at the marina for a brief early morning session. Cameras roll from early one morning in the second half of June to record a short but key sequence.
Director Craig Dowsett will be guiding the production from CD Productions. Actors portray members of an illegal arms syndicate active across Europe. One performer takes the role of a gang leader based in the Spanish sector. His delivery faces delays caused by chaos created in Britain by the main character, Priest.
Retribution story centres on betrayal and revenge
Priest serves as an ex-special forces soldier who encounters betrayal from his partner during an operation to take down an illegal arms ring. Events take place while the unit attempts to dismantle an illegal arms network. Left for dead in the aftermath, Priest recovers and pursues a campaign of destruction. He targets the gangs and seeks personal vengeance against his former colleague.
Marbella locations give the perfect backdrop
Further activity involves B-roll material shot in various spots around Marbella over the next couple of days. Fancy cars feature prominently in some sequences. Establishing shots capture the local scenery to emphasise high-end appeal and create an authentic atmosphere of wealth.
Future film projects could follow retribution example in Puerto Banus
Organisers express confidence that this coast ranks among the finest places globally for such work. Martyn Jupp, who owns the Malex yacht, could portray the vessel’s captain once persuaded on the day. Someone famous may well be attending to snap behind-the-scenes photographs together with cast and crew images.
Film fans are looking forward to greater activity in this area as a result of the new film production and its positive impact, especially those who may end up being nabbed for extras. Watch this space for more news on the filming.
