South Korean actress Pyo Ye-jin appears to have caught the Pop Mart bug during her recent trip to Singapore.
The 34-year-old shared an Instagram post on Sept 26, showing what she described as a “Twinkle Twinkle hunting” expedition through a 20-photo carousel of her blind box pulls. Adding to the theme, Ye-jin also used TaeTiSeo’s Twinkle (2012) as the post’s background audio.
In the caption, she wrote: “Why are there so many of them?” before joking, “Stop buying…”
Ye-jin appeared to have visited the Pop Mart outlet at Funan and even made purchases from vending machines during her hunt.
One photo shows her grinning mischievously as she stands at the payment counter with two full sets and two individual boxes from the Twinkle Twinkle Farm Tales Series Vinyl Plush Pendant series.
Her grey backpack is adorned with the Faithful Puppy and Loyal Wolfy keychain plushies from the same collection.
Another photo shows 14 newly purchased Twinkle Twinkle plushies freshly unboxed and arranged in a circle on the floor at what appears to be Funan, with Ye-jin and her friends seated around the display taking photos.
She posted a photo of her haul, including two from the Twinkle Twinkle Sweet Dreams Forecast Plush Pendant series and one from the Savour the Moment Fresh-Baked Mini Cookies Plush Pendant series.
She also photographed herself carrying a yellow tote bag decorated with the Little Yawn plush pendant from the We Are Twinkle Twinkle Series.
However, Ye-jin’s shopping adventure wasn’t limited to this IP.
She and her friends posed with their purchases from the Zootopia Ace Duo Series Plush Pendant collection from what appeared to be a Pop Mart vending machine located in Suntec City.
Among the pulls were Traffic Cop Judy, Officer Judy and Streetwise Nick as she jokingly wrote in her caption for the characters to “come along” with her.
She also bought a blind box from the Twinkle Twinkle Crush On You Series Plush Pendant collection and got the Nerdy Cupid design.
By the end of the post, Ye-jin appeared ready to call time on her blind box shopping spree, writing: “That’s enough.”
Ye-jin was spotted in Singapore earlier this month while filming the new Singapore-South Korea romantic comedy microdrama titled Collateral Romance, also starring Kim Myung-soo.
Behind-the-scenes footage of the production showed her shooting scenes, alongside Jo I-geon from Single’s Inferno 5, around JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
