Change is coming to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s charitable endeavors.

The couple announced Friday that they are reworking their charitable foundation, Archewell, renaming it Archewell Philanthropies and shifting to a fiscal sponsorship model. In a statement on their website Friday, they also indicated the new structure would bring their children, Archie (6 years old) and Lilibet (4 years old) into the fold while seeking to “broaden their global philanthropic efforts for meaningful reach and maximum impact.”

“After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies,” the statement said. “This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavors as a family.”

Fiscal sponsorships can allow for more flexibility in the work they support, and for more streamlined administrative structures, though they can also reduce the visibility into the specific programs or efforts being supported by the charity.

For example, Archewell’s 2024 Form 990 (which it also released) outlined all the specific grants it made that year, the largest being $150,000 to Screen Sanity, “to support and inform parents on child online safety.” It is likely that the new structure will have less granular detail, though that remains to be seen.

Archewell also released its 2025 impact report on Friday, in which co-executive directors James Holt and Shauna Nep promised that their work would continue under the new structure.

“Five years ago, The Archewell Foundation was born from a simple but profound belief: to show up and do good,” the pair write in the report. “Today, as we mark our fifth anniversary, that mission remains as vital and urgent as ever— now carried forward through Archewell Philanthropies, a growing platform designed to deepen and expand how we serve communities around the world.”

Meghan and Harry, of course, are in the entertainment business, with their Archewell Productions label still holding a first-look deal with Netflix. Markle also hosted a lifestyle show for the streaming platform earlier this year called With Love, Meghan, and Netflix partnered with Markle on her “As Ever” product line.

“Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series,” Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria said at the time. “More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As ever line consistently selling out in record time. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together.”
