Perez Hilton was treated for an overdose after his livestreamed suicide attempt earlier this month, according to a Florida incident report.
A fire rescue team entered the gossip blogger’s Florida home on Aug. 4 and “began treatment on scene for multiple lacerations and an overdose” before transporting him to a local hospital, according to an incident report obtained by People Friday.
Hilton’s sister, Barbara Lavandeira, called law enforcement after she discovered her brother self-harming while “covered in blood” and unclothed during a TikTok livestream.
Lavandeira had left the home, along with Hilton’s three children — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8. However, the internet personality rushed outside — in the same condition — and was “banging on” the car window, the report stated.
When officers arrived, Hilton, 48, had locked himself back inside his house.
According to the report, Hilton’s family members later arrived at the scene and took him to the living room to undergo treatment.
Page Six has independently confirmed that Perez was treated for an overdose. We can also confirm he ran out of the home to his sister’s car.
Lavandeira exclusively told Page Six in an interview published Thursday that he remains hospitalized and “continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries.”
“His physical and mental recovery is going to take a lot of time, but we remain hopeful,” she said. “He has no access to a cellphone, social media or the internet. Everyone’s focus is on helping him recover physically and making sure he receives the mental and emotional care and support he needs.”
In her only interview with the media, Lavandeira shared that it’s “still far too early to know the extent of any lasting damage or scarring” on Hilton.
She stated that their visits have been limited and she doesn’t want to talk to him about topics he doesn’t remember.
“He’s with medical professionals, and right now, the focus needs to remain on his treatment and recovery. There’ll be time for those conversations when his doctors believe he’s ready,” Lavandeira said, noting that she doesn’t know when he will return home.
Lavandeira also told Page Six in an emotional interview that her brother was battling “severe depression” and had checked himself into a hospital before the heartbreaking incident.
Recalling two weeks prior to Hilton’s hospitalization, she said, “He told us that a few days earlier, he had felt empty, hopeless and like he was a burden on everyone.”
“He then admitted that one night when he couldn’t sleep, he had taken the remaining painkillers from his surgery in March. He said he just wanted to sleep.”
Lavandeira told us that she took Hilton to the hospital, and he was discharged days later, noting that he “seemed” and “looked better” in the days leading up to the suicide attempt and was in therapy.
She described finding Hilton in his condition as “the darkest days” she and her family have experienced.
Hilton’s mom, Teresita Lavandeira, has since filed for temporary custody of his three children.
