Alex Cooper’s drink line, Unwell Beverages, is going under less than two years after hitting shelves.
Bloomberg reported Thursday — citing sources at Target Corp., Unwell Beverages’ main distributor — that the brand will shut down this fall following the release of Halloween-themed products.
The outlet noted that Target Corp. is selling through its remaining inventory ahead of the brand “ceasing production across all of [its] line of beverages.”
Reps for Alex, Nestlé and Target Corp. declined to comment to Bloomberg and did not return Page Six’s request for comment.
Unwell Beverages initially launched as Unwell Hydration in early 2025, offering an electrolyte-focused line in partnership with Nestlé.
The brand later transitioned to its current name as it expanded its lineup to include Unwell Focus, Unwell Protein and Unwell Energy.
News of the brand’s shutdown comes amid a wave of backlash against Cooper this year, much of it tied to her husband Matt Kaplan’s alleged treatment of Unwell Network staff.
In April, Kaplan, who co-founded Unwell Network with Cooper in 2023, faced allegations that he “frequently yell[ed] at staff members” and threatened their Hollywood careers. Employees reportedly said they would quit if his behavior continued.
Soon after, Courtney Babbin, who said she was in the running of Unwell Network’s director of events role, accused Kaplan of “s–t[ing] on” the company’s staff during her interview.
“He said, ‘Everyone who works here is a nepo baby. They are rich. They don’t care. They have no work ethic. They are lazy,’” Babbin explained. “He looked unimpressed with the whole situation. It was just nasty. It was awful.”
Last month, Dave Portnoy alleged in his memoir “Cancel Me If You Can” that Cooper and her former “Call Her Daddy” co-host Sofia Franklyn plotted to break their Barstool Sports contracts with “fake” sexual harassment claims.
According to Portnoy, Cooper laid out their “game plan” in a meeting after he offered her and Franklyn what he called “the most generous offer in Barstool [Sports] history.”
Cooper was asked about Portnoy’s allegation during a CNBC interview Wednesday, acknowledging that she hadn’t read the memoir in which he made the claims.
“That’s not how I remember that at all,” Cooper said. “But I also am, like, Dave’s got his version, and I’ve got my version, and we’re all good.”
The podcast host was then asked if she wanted to share her version of events, but declined. “I’m in my mother era. I’m no drama right now. We’re here to talk business.”
Cooper announced in May that she and Kaplan are expecting their first child.
