Nick Viall and Natalie Joy experienced a devastating pregnancy loss — and emotionally shared their story on the “Viall Files” podcast.

The 26-year-old tearfully told listeners that she was “actively miscarrying” during Wednesday’s episode, calling it the “biggest heartbreak” of her life.

Joy said that she has “never felt so empty” and “dead inside” while trying to care for their 11-month-old daughter, River.

“It sucks because I have to be so alive for River,” she explained. “I have to be silly and goofy and funny and play with her.

“Then, I have this overwhelming guilt that when I’m with [my husband], I can’t also do that,” Joy continued. “I’m sad that the only version [he gets] right now is this broken person.”

She credited Viall, 44, with helping make “the worst experience … as easy as it could be.”

Joy gushed, “You did everything right, which I feel is impossible to do in those situations. Yet, you managed and you still continue to.”

The surgical technologist explained that she knew “from the jump” that she was suffering a miscarriage after “spot bleeding for awhile” but “didn’t want to accept” the reality.

She recalled, “It just got heavier and heavier. … I went to go pee and it was like I gave birth. It was like I did, essentially.”

Joy said she was “screaming and crying [when] Nick ran into the bathroom” as she wondered, “How [am I] supposed to stand up and flush this baby down the toilet?”

After the duo showered with River, Viall “was able to retrieve the baby and everything that came with it” in a “traumatic” moment and “set it aside so [they] can mourn the loss and … bury [their] baby in a place [they] can always connect with.”

It’s unclear how far along she was in her pregnancy when she miscarried.

His partner referred to the night as the “hardest” she’s ever had, saying she “wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”

Joy, who feels “so mad at [her] body for letting it go” and wants to know “why this happen[ed] to” her, told listeners it will “take a long time” for her to heal from the tragic loss.

“It is raw,” she said, explaining that they filmed the episode to “tell the mothers who have felt [the] same feeling” that they are “not alone” in their emotions.

She also issued a warning to Instagram followers who speculated about her pregnancy since each message felt “like a punch in the gut.”

Joy added, “I just also don’t want to forget this baby. I don’t want time to go on and for this baby to have just been like a blip in our lives. I want River to be able to watch this back and see her parents’ love for her sibling that could have been here.”

She and Viall became parents in February 2024 when River arrived.

Two months later, the infant was present when the couple tied the knot in Georgia after nearly four years together.

Joy exclusively told Page Six in June 2024 that she is “absolutely not one and done” and wants to give her baby girl a sibling.

“We definitely [want] three, four, as many as God will bless us with, for sure,” she said — before clarifying the pair had recently experienced a “pregnancy scare” and didn’t want to expand their family “right now.”
