“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Mikayla Matthews joked about getting a divorce in a new video featuring her estranged husband, Jace Terry.
In the TikTok video posted Sunday, the reality TV star dipped her Taco Bell fries into a cheese sauce as she lip-synced the words to an audio clip by influencer Mikayla Noguiera.
“And you’re gonna wanna sit down for this video. I am getting a divorce,” she mouthed.
“Take a minute. Take it in,” she added as Terry walked behind his estranged wife.
“I am getting a divorce,” Matthews mouthed.
The influencer, 26, captioned the video, “Sorry taco bell is my only true love 😚🫶🏼 @Jace Terry.”
Earlier this month, Matthews announced that she and Terry were separating after eight years of marriage.
“We both agreed to do a separation,” she admitted in a confessional during a Season 4 episode of the hit Hulu reality show.
The couple’s main storylines this season were about Matthews’ past sexual abuse and their intimacy issues.
“It’s so incredible that everyone’s getting these opportunities and going out and living their dreams, but my health has held me back from saying yes to a lot of opportunities,” the mom of four, who has been dealing with chronic inflammatory response syndrome as well as postpartum, said in a confessional.
“It’s definitely discouraging and frustrating, and it kind of holds me back in other places in my life, like my marriage with Jace,” she added.
Matthews also realized throughout the season that she needs to heal from the sexual abuse she experienced as a child, or it’s going to continue affecting her and Terry’s sex life.
“I feel like I’m working on so many different things outside of just sex, and I know that obviously he can’t just be like, ‘OK, well we can go without that.’ We both get to a point where we feel really helpless about it,” she explained to her co-star and best friend, Mayci Neeley, in a scene.
In the episode, Matthews packed up some of her belongings and moved out of their shared home with their four children: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie June, 8 months.
Hours after the news of their separation surfaced, Matthews poked fun at her “downfall.”
