Michelle Obama’s trim figure has already sparked Ozempic speculation amongst fans online.
The former first lady recently posted behind-the-scenes footage of her photo shoot with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz via Instagram, in which she could be seen showing off her fit physique.
Obama confidently posed in a simple yet chic outfit consisting of a gray T-shirt, jeans and brown suede boots. Her pose subtly revealed a peek at her toned stomach.
“@AnnieLeibovitz has always known that a photo can do more than preserve a moment — it can say something,” Obama captioned her post. ‘Her book ‘Women’ did exactly that, expanding how we see women and the lives they lead through her lens.”
“It was an honor to be photographed by Annie for the new edition, capturing the many ways women are showing up today,” she continued. “I hope you’ll find it as inspirational as I do.”
Obama’s noticeable weight loss sparked unfounded online chatter that she could be using Ozempic or similar GLP-1 meds. In an X post questioning how she managed to slim down at 61 years old, one user bluntly replied, “It’s called Ozempic.”
“I would imagine Ozempic,” another user commented. “That or a personal trainer and a strict diet, nah, Ozempic is way easier.”
One user speculated, “It’s one of the GLP-1 meds. I think. They’ve certainly helped me when nothing else really did.”
“It’s interesting people are ‘showing off’ the results without crediting the method,” the comment continued. “Taking the medication isn’t cheating. Not telling people with your struggle what you did is unfair.”
Comments have since been turned off on Obama’s Instagram post.
Obama has never admitted to using Ozempic or similar weight loss drugs. Her rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Back in 2022, she candidly talked about gaining weight while going through menopause.
“I never used to weigh myself. I’m not trying to stick to numbers, but when you’re in menopause, you have this slow creep that you just don’t realize,” she told People.
“We’re all in menopause with stretchy [waist] bands and our athleisure wear on, and you look up and you can’t fit the outfits you had last year,” she continued. “I have to be more mindful, not obsessive, but more mindful.”
The mother of two again spoke to the outlet about aging and her health in an interview published earlier this month, calling her sixties “a wonderful time.”
“My health has always been paramount. What I eat, working out, I go to regular doctor’s visits,” she said, noting that she never misses a mammogram. “I do all the things that I’m supposed to do, because I value my health and that also allows me to enjoy this time, because I’m not achy, I’m not sore, I’m not sick. I’m as vibrant as I’ve ever been.”
