Chaos unfolded at Thursday night’s Lollapalooza kickoff show in Chicago, where Lorde was among the headliners.
The singer, 29, was forced to pause her set after multiple people ‘passed out’ as a result of extreme heat, per Rolling Stone.
‘You look hot from up here,’ the outlet reported she said to audience members at one point, summoning security to help.
Then on Friday, it was announced that headliner Lil Uzi Vert, 31, would no longer be performing ‘due to weather issues.’
But hours later, the music festival about-faced, writing in an Instagram Story post: ‘Surprise! Lil Uzi Vert will join Major Lazer on Perry’s Stage tonight.’
Also known to fans as Uzi, the Philadelphia-bred artist shared POV footage as he rode in a vehicle led by a police escort and told Instagram followers, ‘On my way,’ while tagging the music event.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the festival, as well as representatives for Lorde and Lil Uzi Vert for comment.

Prior to the turnaround, Lollapalooza alerted attendees that 28-year-old Swedish pop star Zara Larsson’s hourlong performance had been moved to 6:20.
Lorde, born Ella Yelich-O’Connor, reflected on Thursday night’s show in an Instagram post shared with her 11 million followers on Friday.
She shared several photos of the festival aftermath as she stood on the stage, covered in colorful paint.
A sign was visible in the distance, reading, ‘Stay safe Lolla.’
The Royals hitmaker began a lengthy caption: ‘Last night felt crazy, very out of body, doubting myself a bit, period due, dizzy in the heat.’
She explained the pressure she places on herself, telling fans: ‘I am brutally hard on myself sometimes and almost never feel like I did good enough.’
Elsewhere in her reflection, the Grammy-winning music artist shared, ‘I felt the crowd last night as a heaving organism of connection and love.
‘I felt for the millionth time in my life that my work has taken me to the right place and I’m right where I need to be, always growing and being taught.’
Lorde highlighted the efforts of the festival staff, adding, ‘At midnight I went back onto the stage with jimmy, just stood there for a while and watched tomorrow’s crew ripping off our spikes and the pit crew cleaning up bottles and felt nature at work, nothing ever the one thing, all part of the constellation, felt everything that holds me as I do this work, the many many people who help me get it done, you, the land we perform on, the language and the music that have moved through me since I was a child.

The fashionista added knee-high denim boots with her various song titles emblazoned across them.
She wore a cleavage-baring rugby crop top with yellow and pink stripes, showing off her toned abs.
Suki Waterhouse, 34, also took the stage, modeling patterned, black, micro shorts and a fringed pink top.

Lollapalooza warned fans in an Instagram Story post on Friday, ‘Heads up! Rain is in the area and will continue intermittently throughout the day. We’ll continue to monitor conditions and keep you updated.’
