A Little Mix reunion has been thrown into chaos after Jesy Nelson’s heartbreaking confession in her new documentary.

The singer, 34, revealed last week that she had tried to take her own life just days before quitting the chart-topping band in 2020.

In her new Prime Video docu-series, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, she recalled feeling ‘really alone’ and claimed bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall ignored her cry for help in the lead up to her overdose.

It was the second time Jesy had tried to commit suicide following an overdose in 2013, which she discussed in her BBC documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.

Following the comments, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade have reportedly been left saddened by Jesy’s comments which have ‘brought up a lot of bad from the past’.

A source told The Sun: ‘Jesy’s confession has obviously opened up a can of worms for the girls. The documentary itself and the backlash that has followed, has brought up a lot of bad feeling from the past.

‘It’s been upsetting for the girls, but they are focused on their solo careers and the future now.’

The other Little Mix girls have not reacted to Jesy’s claims but while on her solo tour in the US, Jade broke down in tears on stage as she performed Natural at Disaster, which is reportedly written about her struggling friendship with Jesy.

The lyrics include: ‘It’s hard to love you when you hate yourself. Can’t be there for you without negatively impacting my mental health.’

Meanwhile, Perrie, who recently welcomed her second child, has kept off social media, last posting a week ago to promote her new song Woman In Love.

She brought forward the release by four days after originally announcing it would be available on the same day as Jesy’s documentary.

Meanwhile Leigh-Anne has been more active than usual on social media – posting about her new album My Ego old Me To as she goes on tour.

She told fans: ‘I can’t tell you how excited I am to perform this album live for you! Get me back to my happy place now! This one’s going to be so special!’

Daily Mail have contacted Jesy, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne’s representatives for comment.

Elsewhere in the documentary Jesy claimed one of the other Little Mix members tried to quit the band before she ultimately decided to leave the group – and this is seemingly who it is.

The singer admitted she was ‘blindsided’ by the unnamed member’s decision to leave the girl band and had believed that everyone was happy at the time.

It was reported five years ago that Perrie was the one to try and leave the band first – and Jesy’s latest claims appear to have confirmed the narrative.

Jesy said one of her other former bandmates – Perrie, Leigh-Anne, and Jade – wanted to leave at the start of 2020.

Speaking in her new Prime Video documentary, Jesy said: ‘I thought everyone was in a really good place, but I was wrong.

‘We got called in for a meeting and I just had this gut feeling that it wasn’t going to be good.

‘One of the girls had decided they didn’t want to be in the band any more. I remember feeling my whole world had fallen apart.’

It was a really sad day – me and Jade really cried. I was devastated.’

When asked to name the Little Mix star in question, she said: ‘I don’t think that’s for me to say because they still haven’t said.

‘It’s been really hard to not speak out about this. I thought we’d be together forever. It was never my decision to leave first.’

Following the meeting, it was decided Little Mix would end, but Jesy admits things became ‘messy’ when the band’s conclusion was pushed back by two years, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

She then had a ‘very quick realisation’ that she ‘wasn’t happy’, admitting she had ‘mentally checked out’ of the girl group.

Jesy says in the documentary: ‘That was the moment I thought, I can’t do this anymore. I just remember thinking, I cannot last another two years.

‘I felt like it [the relationship with the girls] had shifted. There would be days I would cry and be a miserable b***h. All those little things build up and build up and they do get to a boiling point.’

In 2021, a source told the Sun that Perrie opened up to the band’s management about how she wanted to leave two years before

The insider said: ‘Perrie actually told the band she was thinking about leaving in 2019 which prompted a sit down with management.

‘In the end she agreed it wasn’t the right time and they talked about the Confetti tour which was delayed due to Covid – it was known that after the tour Perrie would bow out of the group.’

They shot to fame on The X Factor in 2011 and went on to become one of the most successful girl groups at the time, selling over 75 million records worldwide.

After nine years, Jesy announced her split from Little Mix in 2020, stating that she wanted to prioritise her ‘mental health and wellbeing’.

Jesy quit the group in November 2020 after it became too much for her to bear, and was ‘really hurt’ when her lawyer told her bandmates she was to quit the band, before she had chance to tell them herself.

She added: ‘I think they felt really hurt about that and it should never have played out like that.

‘I didn’t get my opportunity to explain why I couldn’t do this anymore. I feel mad that that was taken away from me.’

She also explained that her Little Mix bandmates would only speak to her with a therapist present as she opened up about their split, as she revealed her hopes of clearing up any ‘false narratives’.
