Nate Thompson is responding to Kristin Cavallari revealing their brief but “deep” fling on her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast Tuesday.

Hours after she name-dropped the retired NHL star, he took to his own podcast, “Energy Line,” to say, “It’s OK! It’s fine. I mean, I knew it was only a matter of time before things became public. That’s her world; that’s what she does.

“Her podcast, obviously, as you know, is pretty big, and she talks about her relationships, so I knew it was probably gonna come out eventually.”

Thompson, 40, insisted he has “nothing bad to say about Kristin,” whom he described as “a really, really good person” and “great mom.”

“It was fun. … She’s a cool person. We had a good time. Life is gonna life, and it just didn’t work out,” he explained, noting that they “had a lot in common” given that they’re both “single parent[s]” to their respective children.

“Obviously, we don’t live in the same city, so that dynamic changed things,” he continued, reiterating that they “kinda hit it off, but … things didn’t work out.”

The former hockey player went on to echo a lot of what Cavallari, 38, had told her listeners, saying, “I went [to Nashville] a couple times and saw her. I was with her for New Year’s. We told each other a lot of things in a short amount of time, and we were pretty open and honest about a lot of stuff.”

Though the two “had a connection in the short time that [they] talked or hung out,” Thompson “wouldn’t have called her [his] girlfriend.”

He would, however, call her “very genuine.”

“She hustles; she does her thing, so I got a lot of respect for her and how she handles herself with everything she has to deal with being in the limelight,” Thompson shared.

His co-host, Julie Stewart-Binks — who was quoting Page Six’s article about Cavallari’s comments during the conversation — argued that athletes don’t make the best boyfriends, which prompted Thompson to quip, “I wouldn’t advise to date me either.”

He admitted he “can understand why” Cavallari swore off dating sports figures, pointing out that her ex-husband, retired NFL star Jay Cutler, was also one.

Thompson cited athletes’ “insane” schedules as well as all the “attention” they get.

Later in the chat, he revealed he met Cavallari “through Instagram,” which showed them that they “had a mutual friend.”

“I may have reached out, and next thing you know, I have her number, and we’re chatting. And then I’m in Nashville a couple times, and that’s kinda how it happened,” he told Stewart-Binks.

Thompson added that his cousin lives near the former reality star, so it was a “six degrees of separation” situation since they “knew a lot of the same people.”

He admitted to Stewart-Binks that he “watched a little bit of ‘Laguna Beach’” but not so much “The Hills.”

“So I didn’t know anything up to date, which is probably good,” he said, confessing that he “definitely liked her on ‘Laguna Beach.’”

“I think every guy thinks Kristin Cavallari is hot, for the most part. She is. She’s a very good-looking girl,” Thompson gushed before predicting, “This is gonna hit Page Six, too. For sure.” (He was right. Hi, Nate!)
