Jenny Mollen says her relationship with estranged husband Jason Biggs is “still romantic” — despite their decision to divorce.
The comedian candidly spoke about her split from Biggs in a clip from her appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the full episode of which drops Tuesday. When host Amanda Hirsch noted that the exes’ split was “the end of the romantic part” of their relationship, Mollen disagreed.
“And it’s still, like, romantic. We still love each other,” she insisted. “It’s just not, I don’t know, it’s a different type of romance. It’s, like, your best friend.”
Mollen said she and Biggs’ relationship is “solid,” and that they continue to be “amazing” co-parents to their two sons — Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8.
Mollen called it “surreal” and “bizarre” to be single again for the first time in 18 years, but said she and the “American Pie” star will always be connected through their children.
“People will be like, ‘How does it feel?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know, the same?’” she reflected. “We live in two different places, but we’re still tethered. We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedule and after school and holidays.”
“And so there is like this element of, like, this isn’t a normal breakup where you’re like, ‘See ya!’ and then maybe we’ll bump into each other in 10 years and talk about it,” she continued. “It’s not like that.”
Page Six confirmed Mollen, 47, and Biggs, 48, called it quits last month after 18 years of marriage. We heard there had been rumblings of a split for at least nine months before the news broke.
The Daily Mail reported that Biggs’ recent weight-loss transformation and “stress” from work caused a “wedge” in their marriage.
“Jason definitely has changed since his weight loss transformation. He lost a lot of weight and it definitely helped boost his ego,” an insider told the outlet.
Despite the split, the exes are still clearly on good terms. Earlier this month, they were snapped dining with their kids and linking arms while leaving a restaurant in New York City in pictures obtained by Page Six.
Mollen was also seen helping Biggs as he limped and, at one point, consoled him when he appeared to need to take a break from walking.
