After several years wandering through social Siberia, Kristin Fisher has finally re-entered the notoriously picky eastern suburbs scene.
The Double Bay eyebrow plucker, who has weathered a string of very public controversies in recent years, made her most definitive return yet on Monday night – stepping out at society queen bee Bernadette Sukkar’s Met Gala-inspired charity event hosted by The Buildcorp Foundation in support of Lifeline Australia.
Pilates instructor Bernadette – whose husband, Jordan Sukkar, is Buildcorp’s chief operating officer, and the son of company co-founders Josephine and Tony Sukkar AM – is widely regarded as the new doyenne of the Sydney in-crowd, having risen from Roxy Jacenko’s protégé to elite status.
To bag an invitation to this exclusive soirée was impressive enough – but getting a plus-one was all the proof you need that Fisher has been welcomed in from the cold.
On the 41-year-old’s arm was Morgan Stanley finance bro Shannon Sykes, 28, whose romance with the mother of two was first revealed by The Group Chat last week.
The headline magnet is said to have been introduced to the Gold Coast native, who now lives in Bondi, through mutual friends, despite him being more than a decade her junior.

In a social ecosystem where perception is everything, his presence spoke volumes.
One society insider suggested that courting a ‘cleanskin’ who hasn’t been tainted by the incestuous eastern suburbs dating pool signals a ‘reset’ for Fisher, whose previous marriage to personal trainer Chris Barnes ended in divorce.
Indeed, few were surprised to see the socialite using Monday night’s prestige event as an excuse to hard-launch their relationship, posting shots of the pair getting cosy between glasses of wine.
Fisher, dressed in a plunging copper gown with lace inserts at the waist, looked like the cat that got the cream as she draped herself over her sharply suited beau.
Photos posted by Ms Sukkar, meanwhile, show Fisher nestled among fellow well-heeled guests, including PR queen Montarna McDonald and jeweller Kate Bond – who is Fisher’s sister and the wife of Alan Bond’s grandson Banjo.
Her appearance was as close to a ‘Welcome Back’ party as you could get.
Long seen as sitting on the outer fringe of social relevance after a string of gaffes, the story of how Fisher edged her way back into the room is surely one for the ages.
It follows a years-long stretch in which Fisher’s carefully curated Double Bay life unravelled in increasingly public fashion.

In July 2021, Fisher was arrested for buying cocaine after police found her in a passenger seat of a Kia Rio with two bags of white powder at her feet.
She failed to appear in court three times, blaming her children for losing her court notice by removing it from where it was pinned to the fridge.
Fisher later appeared in court to have her criminal conviction annulled. She expressed deep remorse, describing the incident as a ‘dreadful mistake’ and saying she was deeply embarrassed by her actions.
Magistrate Ross Hudson accepted her guilty plea and opted not to record a conviction, provided she was of good behaviour for six months.
But in annulling her conviction, Magistrate Hudson also criticised the widespread cocaine use in the eastern suburbs, calling it a ‘stain on our community’.
Despite her clean record, it wasn’t a great look.
Fisher also suffered a professional setback in November 2023 when her salon Kristin Fisher Eyebrows entered voluntary administration with debts exceeding $900,000.
The ATO initially rejected a proposed restructuring plan that would have repaid $216,000 of the debt, leading to the appointment of joint administrators.

Factors contributing to the financial difficulties included the impact of lockdowns, the breakdown of Fisher’s marriage, and a lack of financial advice.
In January 2024, Fisher struck a deal with the taxman to wipe out nearly $1million in unpaid taxes. She celebrated the resolution with expensive champagne.
Her personal life has also been headline bait over the years, leading to a reputation for being ‘messy’.

Her friendship with MCoBeauty entrepreneur Shelley Sullivan is also understood to have broken down last year.
The one-time friends – who were once so close that Sullivan provided Fisher with a character reference when she fronted court in 2021 – made headlines when onlookers noticed they appeared frosty at the Silver Party in May 2025.
Even though they were surrounded by mutual friends, including interior designer Blainey North and tracksuit mogul Pip Edwards, there was apparently no interaction, not even a polite air kiss, between the former pals.

In the wake of her shrinking social circle, Fisher raised eyebrows by sparking an unexpected friendship with 24-year-old socialite Emma Pillemer (right)
One guest said she spent much of the evening in ‘social Siberia’, adding: ‘All her usual “friends” were at the opposite end of the room. It was all a bit weird.’
In the wake of her shrinking social circle, Fisher raised eyebrows by sparking an unexpected friendship with 24-year-old socialite Emma Pillemer.
The unlikely pair enjoyed a raucous trip to New York in August last year, with Fisher sharing several blurry snaps of herself partying at ritzy venues alongside Pillemer, the daughter of Sydney fund manager Russell Pillemer and charity director Carole.
Fisher’s love life has also been something of a roller coaster.
In June 2020, she was accused of an entanglement with hairdresser Tom Cole when they were both married. (She would later insist there were ‘no secrets and certainly no affairs’ with Cole).
The latest whispers surrounding Fisher concern an incident last October when a man from the Northern Beaches – known as ‘AA’ after his identity was suppressed by court order – was charged after allegedly breaking into her Double Bay home.
Police claim he knew she was inside at the time.
AA, who is not any of the men named in this article, was subsequently charged with aggravated break and enter with intent, knowing a person was present, and an AVO was put in place for Fisher’s protection.
He was granted bail and is due to face court again next month.
