Kelly Clarkson is ready for her “next phase” after wrapping up her eponymous show after seven years.

“After years of an intense daily schedule, she’s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show,” a source told People on Wednesday.

Her leaving the show will give her “the space to be more present at home” with her two children — River Rose, 11, and Remington, 9 — “while still doing the creative work she loves.”

The source also insisted that Clarkson, 43, “still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind.”

“For her, this next phase is about balance,” the insider noted.

On Jan. 19, Page Six exclusively revealed that the singer would be wrapping up the “Kelly Clarkson Show” after its current season.

One insider described her pending exit from daytime as “definite,” while another said it’s “likely that it will not go on.”

“[Her show] is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it’s not sustainable anymore,” they said.

By Feb. 2, Clarkson confirmed her exit with a lengthy message on social media.

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” she wrote on Instagram.

“There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”

The Grammy winner went on to say that she was “forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for” as well as “all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us.”

Clarkson also praised all of her fans “who have supported our show” since its premiere in 2019, before thanking NBC for “always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”

“Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’” she continued.

The “Because of You” singer echoed People’s source that “stepping away” from her show would allow her to prioritize her kids, which she said “feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”

Clarkson ended her message by acknowledging that while she is departing her daytime talk show after its current season, “this isn’t goodbye.”

“I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time … you never know where I might show up next,” she pointed out.

“But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” Clarkson concluded.

Rumors that Clarkson was calling it quits on her show have been circulating since last year, when an industry source claimed that she would walk away once her contract expired.

“Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be,” insiders told us in April 2025. “The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”

Over the summer, the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer was forced to step back from her show when her ex-husband and the father of her two children, Brandon Blackstock, died following a private years-long battle with melanoma.

Clarkson was said to have stepped away from her show to take care of her family and Blackstock, whom she had divorced in 2022 after a lengthy and bitter legal battle, while he battled skin cancer.
