Jay Chou often directs his music videos, but he has now become a “canvas” for his daughter.
In a social media post on Monday (Aug 17), the Mandopop star, who is married to model Hannah Quinlivan, shared that their four-year-old daughter Jacinda had wanted to do her mum’s make-up in the morning.
Hannah, however, was heading out.
The quick-thinking Jay then told their daughter: “I want you to do my make-up too!”
The little one then dragged her dad into her older sister Hathaway’s room for the makeover.
Jacinda had Jay sit down and got to work after opening Hathaway’s small make-up bag.
“It felt like she was grabbing whatever tool she saw; I was like a canvas that she could freely paint on,” the Taiwanese singer-songwriter recounted.
While the 47-year-old knew how the make-up would turn out, Jay was still surprised when he looked at himself in the mirror.
“I couldn’t help but swallow my cursing,” he said.
Jacinda then asked him if it looked good.
“I stammered, telling her ‘It’s quite interesting.’ She asked me again, ‘Is it good?’ I could only say, ‘It’s good.'”
The kicker was when the four-year-old sat next to him at the mirror and remarked: “Am I beautiful? I am more beautiful [than you].”
Unfortunately, we’ll never see his make-up as Jay said in the hashtags that he’d never let anyone see the photo he took.
Hannah, 33, quipped in a comment: “Enough of this long-winded rambling, I just want to see the finished product.”
Jay and Hannah married in January 2015, and their daughter Hathaway was born six months later. In 2017, they welcomed their son Romeo. Jacinda is their youngest child.
In April, Jay unveiled a photo of his 2014 marriage proposal to Hannah for his new song, I Do.
