This modern Cinderella story got a fairytale ending to award season.

“Anora” won big at the 2025 Oscars on Sunday, sweeping five of the six categories it was nominated in — including the top prize of the night, best picture.

Director and writer Sean Baker — who also won for best film editing, director and original screenplay — became the second person to ever win four Oscars in one night, behind only Walt Disney.

Meanwhile, breakout star Mikey Madison took home her first Academy Award, best actress, for her role as the titular character, beating out front-runner Demi Moore.

But while the highly decorated independent film has yet to hit streaming, there are still ways to watch it online. Read on for everything you need to catch the Oscars’ biggest winner at home.

How to watch “Anora”

While it’ll reportedly hit Hulu later this month, “Anora” is currently available to buy or rent via video-on-demand services. At Prime Video, you can rent the film for $5.99 or purchase it for $14.99.

Should you prefer to own a physical copy of the film, the Criterion Company is also releasing DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra options on April 29 — all currently available for pre-order on Amazon.

What is “Anora” about

The dark comedy follows Anora (Madison), a dancer and sex worker, who enters a whirlwind romance with Vanya (Mark Eydelshteyn), the son of powerful Russian oligarchs. When his parents catch wind of their spur-of-the-moment Vegas nuptials, they send their handlers to get the marriage annulled — leading to a 24-hour mad dash all over Brooklyn.

The film’s been a top contender throughout all of awards season, winning the Palme d’Or at Cannes followed by a BAFTA, a Critics’ Choice Award and three Independent Spirit Awards.

“I want to thank the Academy for recognizing a truly independent film,” Baker said during his acceptance speech for best picture. “This film was made on the blood, sweat and tears of incredible indie artists… Long live independent film!”
