Macaulay Culkin has officially embraced a life he once swore would never be his – suburban dad in Crocs and all.
The Home Alone star, 45, admitted he’s done a full 180 on the polarizing foam footwear since becoming a father of two with his fiancée, actress Brenda Song.
While speaking to WWD’s FN, Culkin confessed he was never a fan of the comfy clogs until parenting changed everything.
‘I wasn’t ever really a Crocs guy,’ he explained. ‘But when I started having kids, I found out that they are kind of really convenient and cozy.’
Prior to fatherhood, the actor joked that he had long promised himself he wouldn’t fall into the cliché.
‘You know, I kind of swore to myself that I was never going to be the suburban dad who wore Crocs, but then I became a suburban dad who wears Crocs,’ he said. ‘So here we are.’

Culkin said the turning point came after spotting his eldest child wearing a bright pink pair, prompting him to follow suit.
‘So, of course, I got a pair of pink Crocs,’ he quipped. ‘And the next thing you know, you see the paparazzi photos of me dropping my kid off at school in pink Crocs.’
While the former child star has softened his stance on footwear, he’s still a work in progress in other areas of domestic life – namely skincare.
Culkin previously revealed that it was Song, 37, who introduced him to even the most basic grooming habits.
‘Whenever Brenda started schmearing stuff on my face,’ he told People in 2024 when asked how he got into skincare.
Despite her best efforts, Song admits her fiancé remains fairly low-maintenance.
‘He has no skincare routine,’ she joked.
The former Disney Channel star, who rose to fame on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, said she’s lucky if Culkin even splashes his face with water before bed.

‘If he washes his face with water at night, I’m lucky,’ she said. ‘I’m the one that has to smear stuff on his face.’
Song added that their wildly different approaches become especially apparent when getting ready for events.
‘It took me an hour and a half to get ready [for an event], and he came up at the last minute and in five minutes, he was done,’ she laughed.
Both Culkin and Song began their careers at an early age.
After parts in 1988’s Rocket Gibraltar and 1989’s Uncle Buck, he was cast in Home Alone.

The movie about a young boy who must defend his family home against some bungling burglars after he’s left behind by his parents in the scramble to catch a flight for a Christmas vacation was an instant hit.
Culkin became an international star at the age of 10.
The film made $476.7 million. He returned to the character of Kevin again in 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, which was nearly as successful as the original, earning $359 million worldwide.
The young actor showed his dramatic skills in the 1991 dramady My Girl, with Anna Chlumsky and Dan Akroyd.

Song began modeling at the age of six and started acting the next year with an appearance the short-lived series Thunder Alley.
After years of appearing in guest spots on various shows, she was cast as a regular in Disney’s Phil of the Future. That show was cancelled after one season, but she got her own starring role in Disney’s Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior as a California teen who learns she’s a reincarnated female warrior destined to save the world.
The couple didn’t hit it off after their initial 2013 meeting on the set of Dad.
When the actress appeared on her then-boyfriend’s Bunny Ears podcast, Culkin said his future love ‘totally brushed me off, completely.’
‘I was focused,’ the actress asserted, joking it was ‘the manbun’ that put a barrier between the two.

That seemed to change once Culkin cut his hair and was cast in Changeland.
Rumors of their romance were sparked when they were seen on a double date at the theme park Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.
Song, who is active on social media, shared a group photo in 2017 that included director and actor Seth Green and her secret beau.

She shared another group shot from the Changeland premiere, writing, ‘Two years ago almost to the day, I went to Thailand and made @changelandmovie with my best friends. It’s out today in theaters and VOD!! Please check it out!’
In a rare admission about his personal life, the actor told Rogan during the 2018 interview, ‘I’m going to make some babies, this one’s a good one. I’m probably going to put some babies in her… We’ve definitely been practicing.’
The former child star was married for two years to actress Rachel Miner. Both were 17 when they wed in 1998, but separated two years later and finalized their divorce in 2002.
Song and Culkin welcomed their first child, Dakota Song Culkin in on April 5, 2021. They got engaged in January 2022 and welcomed their second son, Carson in December of the same year.
