Hilary Duff compared her “lonely” estrangement from her sister, Haylie Duff, to her 2015 divorce from Mike Comrie.

The singer offered insight into their rift while talking about her song, “We Don’t Talk,” which she confirmed is about her older sibling.

“I feel almost like when I got divorced [in 2015], where I dealt with it privately, and then the news comes out and you’re like, ‘OK, great. I’m going to deal with this all over again,’” Hilary, 38, told Rolling Stone in an interview published Thursday.

“I was prepared, a little bit. I made a choice to put that song on my record. That’s definitely the most lonely part of my life, and I struggled with, ‘Am I going to share this?’”

“People have known my life since I was a child,” the former Disney Channel star continued. “And so they know all the characters in it and they know what I’m talking about. For me, it was important to be open about that theme. It genuinely came from the heart.”

Hilary and Comrie — who share 13-year-old son, Luca — wed in August 2010 and separated in January 2014.

The “Younger” actress went on to marry Matthew Koma in 2017, and the pair welcomed three daughters: Banks, 7, Mae, 4, and Townes, 1.

Despite her willingness to share her and Haylie’s feud through her music, Hilary admitted she was “not prepared” for all of the fan theories that came along with it.

During her recent concert in London, fans believed she was making a reference to their feud when she performed on a mustard-colored sofa, which resembled one in Haylie’s home.

“‘The couch is the color of the couch…’ That is absolute bullshit, and totally not true and crazy,” Hilary declared.

“And I don’t have the time to make threads for people to catch on to about that. I have a full life and a busy family, and this was literally just a song about my truth, and that was it.”

Earlier this week, the “Lizzie McGuire” alum opened up about her “complicated” family dynamic and her decision to write about it in two songs off her new album, “Luck… or Something.”

“That’s my family. Those are the people that affect you the most, take up the most space naturally as a human who’s born into something,” she told Glamour.

“Just because you’re born into a family doesn’t mean that it always stays together,” she continued. “You can only control your side and your street.”

Hilary acknowledged that she”s “had a very complicated life,” noting the “very complicated” dynamic between her divorced parents, Bob and Susan.

“I know it’s not rare, and I think it goes back to the theme of, Why share now?” she stated. “I guess I just felt ready.”

Although the sisters starred in multiple music and film projects together, the two haven’t been pictured together since 2019 and haven’t interacted on social media in recent years.

Haylie, 41, most recently made headlines for taking Ashley Tisdale’s side when she accused her mom group — which includes Hilary among several A-listers — of being toxic.

Neither sister has ever publicly revealed the reason for their fallout. However, Hilary hinted at feelings of jealousy on Haylie’s end in the lyrics of “We Don’t Talk.”
