It’s a double whammy for One Direction fans after Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson both topped the UK Singles and Album charts respectively on Friday – 15 years after the band’s first single What Makes You Beautiful hit Number One.

Harry’s new song Aperture, from his upcoming fourth solo album Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally, marks the 31-year-old’s third UK chart topper.

Meanwhile How Did I Get Here? is Louis’ third solo studio album and has hit Number One like all of its predecessors.

And if that wasn’t enough Harry’s former chart-topper As It Was re-entered the Top 40 at Number 28 for the first time since 2024.

Celebrating the feat, Harry posed proudly with his award as fans wait anxiously for the release of his album on March 6.

Martin Talbot, Chief Executive Officer, Official Charts said: ‘It’s precisely 15 years this year since One Direction topped the Official Singles Chart for the first time with What Makes You Beautiful’.

This comes 15 years after the band’s first single What Makes You Beautiful hit Number One L-R) Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan in 2011

‘After Robbie Williams last week demonstrated how enduring our pop-group-member-turned-solo-stars can be, it is fantastic to see Harry and Louis topping the Official Charts again this week.

‘A reminder – if we ever needed one – of the timeless appeal of arguably the world’s favourite 21st Century boy band.’

It comes after fellow One Direction star Zayn Malik took a swipe at Harry with a jibe about ‘ticket prices’ after he was branded ‘greedy’ and ‘out of touch’ by furious fans.

Harry dropped the pre-sale tickets for his seven city global residency, called Together, Together, earlier this week and left fans outraged by the staggering prices.

Now, his former 1D bandmate Zayn has called the Watermelon Sugar singer out for the cost of his tickets, which range from £44 ($60.80) to a staggering £725 ($1,000) for his London leg of the tour.

During his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live on Wednesday night, the Pillowtalk hitmaker made the comment while speaking to the crowd in between his songs.

Dressed in a smart white blazer, Zayn joked: ‘Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high… just saying.’

Swiftly moving on, he added: ‘Anyway, who wants to hear another song?’

Meanwhile, Harry’s former bandmate Louis proudly posed with his award as he thanked fans for all their support

He said: ‘Number 1 in the UK!! Absolutely mind blown. The amount of hard work I’ve seen from every fan to support this record is a different class’

Zayn, who found fame with Harry and bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne in One Direction in 2010, has been charging from $83 (£60) to $479 (£347) for his residency, where the theatre holds a capacity of just 5,200.

Seats on the London leg of Harry’s stadium tour range from £44 ($60.80) to £466.24 ($642.76), with the standing prices ranging from £144 ($199.45) to £279 ($385.34), and VIP packages cost from an eye-watering £468.85 ($646.50) to £725 ($1,000).

Meanwhile, fans waiting in the online queue for tickets to see Harry in New York’s Madison Square Gardens were told: ‘Tickets for this event have been priced in advance by the tour from $50 to $1,182.40, including service fees.’

In New York, it’s also thought the most expensive VIP package is currently priced at $1,667.

In Amsterdam, tickets cost anywhere from €74.05 (or $87.79) to €828.62 (which is $982.38 in USD).

In comparison, Harry’s 2022 residency at Madison Square Garden ranged in price from $39.50 to $199.50, while his sold-out run at Wembley Stadium in London in 2022 started at only £45 and went up to £99.

The costs have sparked a furious reaction from Harry’s fans, with many blasting the star for making music ‘inaccessible’ for a large portion of his young fanbase.

Posts on X included: ‘This is the WORST presale experience I’ve ever had. I really thought I had a chance to see Harry since I was 20k in line but they sold out in 30 minutes.’

‘Hey @Harry_Styles as someone who’s loved you for almost 14 years and went to all the tours, I’m at a loss for words over how much you/ur team seem to have lost touch with reality in terms of residency shows and ticket price. Music should be accessible. Remember how you started.’

‘Friendly reminder that artists can disable platinum pricing, implement face value ticket exchange, have a say in their own pricing! Harry Styles you’re a greedy a*s b***h.’
