Reports suggesting that actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are headed for a divorce after 37 years of marriage left many shocked. If reports are to be believed, there have been several reasons that led to frequent clashes and impacted their bond. Actor’s manager Shashi Sinha spoke with IANS about the reports of Sunita filing for divorce. He told IANS, “Right now, the news is being spread all over the place. So we are keeping an eye on it. Yes, she has sent a legal notice in the court. I am aware of that. But there is no concrete matter as to what it is. The legal notice hasn’t yet reached us”. He added, “They don’t live separately. Govinda lives in his bungalow. Most of the time, he lives there. Yes, he comes and goes to his house. He lives in a bungalow for a few days. He works in a political party, he is in the ministry. He is associated with the government. So, it’s very natural for him to spend some time in his bungalow”.
Govinda’s nephew Krushna Abhishek’s wife Kashmera Shah too dismissed the divorce as nothing more than a ‘rumour’. While reacting to the reports, Kashmera told News18, “I don’t know anything about their life. But personally, I think it’s a horrible rumour.”
Earlier, Krushna Abhishek too had denied the divorce rumours. “This is not possible. They won’t divorce,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. Arti Singh too echoed the same sentiment. “I’m not in Mumbai right now, so I haven’t been in touch with anyone,” she said. “But I can tell you that this news is completely false. It’s just speculation. Govinda and Sunita have a strong and loving relationship that they’ve built over the years, so the idea of them getting divorced is unthinkable.”
