Size matters for Gayle King.
The “CBS Mornings” anchor divulged her fetish for larger men during an interview on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Wednesday.
“I like big, Alex, in every way,” the 71-year-old TV personality said, when asked what “people would be surprised to know” she’s “into.”
King added, “You can take with that big hands, big chest, big muscles, big feet. Do with that what you will.”
The journalist told Cooper, 31, that her “panties come off” for a “guy with a sense of humor. Somebody that can make you laugh.”
She also shared her “first date dealbreakers,” including smoking, and divulged she prefers a slightly younger man — “somebody that can pick me up and carry me across the room. And doesn’t go, ‘Oh, my back.’ I want that.”
“Guys my age, they tend to be a little boring,” King said. “You can’t generalize, but that has been my experience so far.”
The TV star also revealed her ideal date night.
“I love a good restaurant,” she said. “I love a movie. I like a restaurant, movie, then we can talk about the movie. I love that.”
Elsewhere in the interview, King recalled the moment she caught her then-husband, William Bumpus, cheating with a close friend.
“I came home and caught him,” she said of Bumpus, to whom she was married from 1982 to 1993. King said she told the other woman, who was in a towel, “‘I thought we were friends!’” and added that it “sounded so pitiful.”
Bumpus, meanwhile, came forward that same day to apologize for his misbehavior. “My deepest apologies to Gayle, to our daughter Kirby and her husband, Virgil, to our son William and his wife, Elise, and to our three grandchildren, for the pain I caused decades ago,” he told Page Six.
“Those actions were mine.”
Bumpus said King “has every right to share what was a painful chapter that changed the trajectory of our marriage and our family nearly 40 years ago” and added in part that he “repect[s] her right to tell her story.”
He also told us that he’s “endlessly grateful” to the journalist for giving him “two of the greatest gifts of [his] life” — their grown daughter Kirby, now 40, and son Will, now 39.
Bumpus apologized for the incident that led to their divorce back in 2016, as well.
